This call came after VAR buzzed down. They got the call correct. A tough one against Quansah as his leg rolled over the top of the ball, which contributed to his cleats hitting the attacker. England will play down a player for the rest of the game.

A tough call for Kane, but it's the correct call. The ref didn't see it in real time, but in his defense these are really tough to see. VAR buzzed down, and after checking the PK was awarded.

I did get a chuckle when the TV announcers mentioned that after each goal, there is a guy that is behind them whose responsibility is to open an umbrella to keep them dry. smh

What a match last night. It had everything. Today is going to drag until that Portugal Spain kick off. Hopefully the US can do what Canada and Mexico failed to do.

Just a bit of friendly advice. We do it this way because we've always done it this way isnt usually a winning argument.

How about, we've developed and tweaked it over 150 years to get to the point where our experience tells us it's about as good as it can be. That's more the angle I was shooting for, but thanks for the advice.

And in the next 150 years will it continue to be altered? Of course...that's the point. Almost no rule is perfect or above being questioned.
