Chose to be a backup at Oregon rather than a starter for miserable Nebraska. And his dad freaking played there.
Except that a player still had to have a high school (and in this case a junior college) transcript and test scores to the NCAA.
And were those transcripts legit? I mean Dexter Manley made it through Ok St without being able to read. So, do we think the Big 8 was forthcoming with the NCAA with their athletes academic records and eligibility? Bottom line in this conversation is that Rozier had to go to community college before Nebraska due to poor grades, just as Marshall said. We can go back and forth all night, but that was the point of the original conversation. We are splitting hairs now.

Academic records don't flow through the school to the NCAA. And athletes who spend only one year at a junior college don't do so because of unacceptable high school academic credentials.
So Wilson doctored Rozier's transcript making him eligible? Then why did he spend a year at Coffeyville?
That may have been the norm. But Frank Gifford, Jim Taylor and Roger Staubach are among those who spent 1 year only.
Since the NCAA Academic Clearinghouse did not exist, admission requirements were not uniform.
And so far as anyone has been able to find out Dorsett never attended a class at sPitt and had hundreds of $ in unpaid traffic tickets maybe they still aren't paid, or maybe someone paid them for him. He also never finished at sPitt.

Heck, many current players have questionable transcripts. I have seen quite a few athletes over the years be given letter grades much higher than they deserved so that their gpa was high enough to offset a low test score.
When I was coaching basketball, I would always tell my freshmen who had potential to play scholarship level basketball to always retake their English and math classes over the summer if they got below a B. It was well known that if you just showed up every day and did a basic classwork that you would get to be more higher for your final grade in summer school and thus cancel out anything lower that was on your transcript from the year.

Gifford graduated high school in 1948 and I don't know what the standards were back then. No indication that Staubach had academic issues, so, like Aaron Rodgers, could have exited NMMI after one year.
Taylor enrolled at LSU immediately after high school. Had academic difficulties as a freshman, transferred to a junior college, the re-enrolled. That was not an uncommon path in later years. The two-year (and associate degree) only applied to athletes who enrolled in junior college after high school due to academic deficiency.
Actually academic records certainly do flow from the schools to the NCAA. GPA in "core courses" and a sliding scale of ACT or SAT scores also applied as recently as 2011...can't vouch for what has happened to the "eligibility center" once known as "The NCAA Clearinghouse." There are actually people here who had student athletes who went thru the process and in some cases had children qualify. You are just making **** up as you go along.
I have absolutely no doubt that Kraft had Matt as his #1 target when he axed Franklin. Rhule nose dived for one and also, saw the venom in the PSU fan base and quickly and correctly decided "you can't go home again."
