I feel like I understand what you’re saying here. It’s a lot of nervous tension and unsatisfying progress within a typical soccer match. I will say when you see a goal scored though, that is just pure bliss unlike anything many other sports have to offer. The WHOLE GAME can be flipped in a split second. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, for sure.I tried getting into it. I really did. It's just too painful watching them go up and down the field...back and forth...for what seems like hours with little to no scoring. It's like a goal is the only thing to cheer about, and of course that's rare. Even in baseball you have stuff to cheer for and keep the game interesting, like a good hit, a stolen base or a critical out. Or maybe I'm missing something.
I just don't get it.
When the ball isnt in the middle third someone is threatening to score, there can be excitement without points.
Its okay that it didnt excite you, but your team repeatedly getting shots on target or your goalie making save after save is exciting. But it wasn't.

Karen. Singular. L4This was brought to you by the Karen’s that tell you that you aren’t allowed to support or care about Mississippi State baseball.
Just hilarious

If you understand soccer, there’s a lot more to it. I like both sports. In both, some games are really exciting & some are boring as hell. But it’s ok if you don’t like it.But it wasn't. With a goal-line stand you have the anticipation build between each down and when they all line up. That ends in disappointment or excitement. There's a cycle to it. In soccer there's no break in the action and it gets monotonous. That's the only way I know how to describe it. But again that's just me. I simply can't get into it.
ETA: Not to mention someone on the other team getting the hell knocked out of him. That's a plus too.
It's what this country has done as long as it's been a country, fix other people's problems.Showing up periodically and telling people how t fix things is as American as it gets
This is bait. And I’m not falling for it.
I will continue to complain from a safe distance about the $h!tastic failure that is the majority of the MSU athletic department. I will not give one thin dime to this abortion of colossal stupidity called NIL. I will not support in any manner the handing of insane amounts of money to 18-22 year old halfwits with as-yet-not-developed brains. I will continue to offer my unsolicited opinion about this lunacy without acknowledging in the slightest that, because I do not and will not hand over my hard earned money or free time to the brain trust currently occupying the pork palace, I am disqualified from expressing my disdain.
Was this really necessary?
Do you feel better trolling about it?
Some of you mods need to verify this IP address because this sounds exactly like another recent poster on here.I feel bad for the ticket office intern that has to call an idiot like you and listen to your babbling. You are woefully ignorant and the fanbase would be better off without you. You should look into a lobotomy
If you only show up in World Cup years and feel the need to tell the world how to fix its most popular sport…..just stifle it Edith. You are clueless and nobody cares about what you think. That’s the honest truth.

I’ve been calling you out about your idiot refusal to support basketball for years. Get a new angleJust the ones using multiple usernames being 2 faced bit-ches
First I've heard of your concern for the well being of my choice of which sports to support, but the thing is, I don't support basketball, period. I don't support MSU, the Lakers, my church league team, the Olympics team, nobody. I despise the game, not the teams, just like I do soccer. But you want me to make an exception just for you and support basketball and spend my money on tickets, parking NIL, etc? You're the idiot in this equation, and evidently a troll tooI’ve been calling you out about your idiot refusal to support basketball for years. Get a new angle
More honest truth. Nobody cares about your incessant baseball rants. If you only show up in World Cup years and feel the need to tell the world how to fix its most popular sport…..just stifle it Edith. You are clueless and nobody cares about what you think. That’s the honest truth.
I respect your reasoning but in the past you’ve repeatedly downed the program unnecessarily when in the grand scheme of things it is more important than baseball like it or not. Calling out the Shmuleys of the world makes me a troll? I don’t understand this mentality. I think free speech is fantastic as long as it isn’t causing physical harm to anyone. If a poster wants to come here and say repeatedly that the sky is green and the ocean doesn’t exist, let them. People can make up their own minds as to what they want to believe. I honestly remember way back when when people on genespage started kicking everyone off because they wanted a positive only experience of MSU. Those were almost the words verbatim. I don’t EXPECT everyone to agree with all my viewpoints and that’s OK. We can disagree with all the neighbors on many things and still be good neighbors. What did this board do to deserve L4 and sigma?
Settle down ma’am…. I’m not advocating for you to be banned. I just think you’re a terrible poster.I don’t understand this mentality. That’s just what I think. I’m sure you’ll disagree.
I’m a grown man. Appreciate your honesty. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, including you.Settle down ma’am…. I’m not advocating for you to be banned. I just think you’re a terrible poster.
I agree. I’d rather watch two dudes flip a die with 20 sides where 19 sides say “intercepted” and one side says “goal”. Except every now and again you run into a talented team who has two sides that say “goal”.I tried getting into it. I really did. The fact remains that the decision makers do not care what you think about baseball finances. And we are all laughing at you for thinking that your 1,000 posts about it will get them to change their minds. The fact remains that the world does not care what we think about the game. They also think it’s absolutely hilarious that we think it needs fixing, and that we can do it. They find it doubly hilarious that they only hear from us on this every four years for a month. You can take it on its terms as is, or not. That’s your choice. It’s not going to change for American sensibilities. It’s never going to be the most popular sport in the US, it’s not my favorite sport either. I do enjoy it though. Just like I do the other sports I like that aren’t my favorite.
My arguments about college baseball are strictly financial and peculiar to MSU. It has nothing to do with not liking it. I go to games from time to time.
Obviously they don't. And how in the heck could my posting here get them to change their minds? Two of the great thinkers in history - Socrates and Donald Rumsfeld - agreed that human behavior could be broken into three distinct categories.Nah. I tried. Nothing to miss.
Two of the great thinkers in history - Socrates and Donald Rumsfeld - agreed that human behavior could be broken into three distinct categories.
The first is 'known knowns'; these are things we know we know.
The second is 'known unknowns'; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know.
But the third category, and what I think fits best here, is called 'unknown unknowns' — things we don’t know we don’t know. Id est, someone in a position of not knowing something (that's you) is not really the best person to judge whether or not there is in fact something to know.
I'm glad I could help clear this up.
