Great news and what is sorely needed. Nail down a blue chip QB and then hope he helps attract big play 4 and 5 stars to fill in the cracks. However, I assume many here are disappointed, because they have clearly stated that PSU will not invest in players that aren't going to impact the field. Unless CMC is throwing this kid on the field as a freshman (and assuming his ratings trend up) it will cost a million or more to have him on the bench.
I hope this is the result of newfound NIL resources because it flies in the face of letting a significantly higher rated QB (Bourque) go elsewhere. while settling for a 3 star.
Can’t you stay positive for one post?
We gave 2 commits for 28. Both ranked in top 5 in PA!

Any doubt they will reload? 2028 is 2 lifetimes away in today's "college football." Just today I noticed Ohio State got a 2028 five star WR (yes another one) and a five star DL 2027.
If young Mr, Armstrong continues to progress as a senior and he improves or maintains his #10 position, he will have many offers to consider. PSU will need to dedicate significant funds to keep him and I'm absolutely sure they are well aware of this.
He already has a lot of offers from P4 schools.

Can't you read? "Great news and what is sorely needed." I'll leave the pom pom shaking to you and others.
OSU had a 5 star 27 and a 5 star 28 the same day. I am "positive " PSU needs to add top 100 talent to contend.

He has also supposedly said he wants to stay in PA.

Sorry but I can't imagine PS losing him to sPitt or Temple.

With some guy's money helps but it's not the end all be all. In the end PS really wants this kid and they will do the right thing by him.

Also, remember that recruiting ain’t done until they sign on the dotted line. That goes for our current commits and all the rest. If you thought the coach firings were up this past year wait until next season—all those NIL deals will get tossed in the air as the season goes on.

his true colors personified !
Yes I began my devious plot to destroy PSU football at spring practice of 1971. Observing and plotting as Joepa personally demonstrated some base offense using Lydell Mitchell and Franco Harris as his RBs. I worked tirelessly until 2010 sneaking into the pep rally a day before the 1/1/11 Outback Bowl at the community center to observe what would turn out to be Paterno's last bowl game rally! Even detailed Suepa ushering her grandchildren into the hall.
But I didn't rest, I spied on the Lions on 3/31/11 spring practice after reading Sara Ganim's article downtown. I engaged Kermit Buggs in a conversation at Holuba later that day, hoping to inject him with venom that would bring the collapse of the hated Lions. I can only be proud that my true colors were never discovered all these years until a real PSU fan exposed me. :sneaky:

All experts have Nebraska as heavy favorites to land him.

My question was directed towards to members of the board. I understand where most experts stand at this moment. Also, not every expert has changed their RPM to Nebraska because Fitz still has PSU. 5 of 6 have Nebraska though.

This kid changes his mind a lot. Wouldn't be surprised at all if it's PSU tomorrow or in the end.

This is a pretty good video. They breakdown Armstrong, but also talk about the loaded 28 class in PA and surrounding traditional PSU recruiting areas. PA is loaded, specifically western PA.

Nebraska is currently in the lead but regardless who gets a “commitment” tomorrow the word on the street is this is an open recruitment $ until signing day.
Got to believe if he chooses Nebraska it's money. Unless PSU changes it's approach with $$ if he flips, it will likely be a Texas Tech, Southern Cal, Auburn move (they seem to throw around money).
PSU loosing a recruiting battle to Nebraska hasn't happened in my memory.

Many years ago Nebraska landed Mike Rozier from Camden, NJ. Penn State recruited him but was late in the game.

Interesting tidbit in the video. Franklin began inviting Armstrong to PSU camps as an eighth grader. The camps are usually reserved for rising juniors and seniors but Franklin and staff identified him as a talent well before that, then offered very early also. So, Armstrong’s
PSU recruitment has spanned two coaching staffs and several years.

I thought it was more about Rozier's inability to gain admission to PSU. Didn't he go JUCO or something out of high school?
You are correct. Good memory on your part. Nebraska was always more willing to take kids with grade and behavior issues.

No matter the.school that Taylor "commits " to tomorrow, I have a better chance of being named Jack Ham s replacement for PSU football radio color commentary than KT does of signing with said school in December/February.

So he took the CC route just for exercise?
He couldn't get in and at that time (70's) two schools in the Big 8 were famous for taking non qualifiers, OK and NE.

During that time OK got caught for doctoring HS grades and classes taken in TX through a couple academic advisors who were OU grads. They were put on probation for it, and I think it might have been two years with a bowl ban the first year, but memory probably fails me now on the timing and years.

Coffeyville, KS. But he was only there for a year, so the grade concern was dubious. He was a wishbone halfback at Wilson.
How is it dubious? If he had no issues, wouldn’t he have just started out at Nebraska? And it wasn’t like Osborne was a stickler for fine, upstanding gentlemen. If Rozier had, even borderline questionable grades out of Wilson, Osborne would have welcomed him with open arms, no?
