Every time Lee Greenwood sings I am proud to be an American CHILLS RUN UP MY SPINE and I get really inspired and thankful.

For those NOT THANKFUL please read the Bible and the section on Job and the Devils bets with God about Job and his convictions and loyalty to God.

That lesson speaks to my feelings about my convictions to Faith , Family , Country , Community and creating a BEST WORLD.

I am far from perfect but pray every day to be shown a better path and wisdom to use the tools and resources I have been given.

I am retired and really want for very little. Lucky at meeting and marrying a beautiful woman who blessed me with two children we have shared raising over decades as children are. Your children for life.

Every day I take a moment in my prayers and sincerely thank my mom and dad for bringing to me the example of being loving caring parents.
Without them I would never have grown to be me and who I feel very happy with myself and my life.

Today at my age I realize that my shelf life is growing shorter and I need to get my affairs in order on what must I do over the next years I have to meet my goals of making Jesus and God proud of me and even more important to me living breathing and doing my best to make my now deceased parents proud of who I am and my wife, my two children and my two grandchildren.

That is a simple goal to live a lfe of selflessness with compassion and kindness for those you love.

And share that compassion and kindness like Mother Theresa’s sharing in India for decades.

Tonight and over this July 4th Holiday I sent my family off on a great vacation trip as I felt I would be a wet blanket and drag on them as I am still recuperating from leg hamstring and knee replacement surgery. Boy was that one painful surgery to recover from as it will take many more months but the good news is it is on me now to recover .

While they have been gone a few days and calling me I laugh when they do the faux pas of saying they are missing me. I laugh as I think who can miss an old broke down man whose best feature is he has a generous ATM and is very generous with sharing with his family.

So to the folks on here I say to ask yourself. Am I doing my best to make first yourself the best you can be, Then are you doing all you can for your family then community state and Country the USA.

The short answer is NO ONE IS DOING ENOUGH AND ALL THEY CAN.

So this week while at HOME ALONE I have reflected and resolved to do more in the shorter time I have with helping my family and community.

It’s not always MONEY as LEADERSHIP and a great plan will solve more problems than they create.

Now to have the folks go ballistic. I feel , sense and know the GOLDEN AGE OF AMERICA is starting.

I you want to help bring in instead of fight it please consider looking for positives in life instead of always looking for negatives.

And of course speak your mind with civility and respect , but speak your mind.

Violence should never been the first option , but the last.

GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

PS THE FIREWORKS SHOW WAS TRUE SHOCK AND AWE

Any true follower of the teachings of Christ, would never, and I mean never, support a man like Trump. And yet you guys worship him and idolize him. It really is something to behold. Trump is literally everything Jesus taught against.
100% correct. Supporting an immoral, narcissistic, serial lying, serial adulterous, serial grifter is anti-Christian in every way shape and form.

Just to make a point Jesus was accused of many crimes and convicted, Trump being a mere human is guilty of plenty, but many if not most all are human failures that both parties are guilty of human weaknesses

I will suggest to you that he who is without sin cast the first stone. Throw those rocks oh perfect man.

or option B With what measure you judge you shall also be judged, I personally don't know the facts in most of the claims however I see the he said / she said and constant bias and the process of where Trump brings out the worse in many people and they resort to an inquisition instead of an inquiry.

Throw into my suggestions the conversion of Saul to Paul on the Road to Damacus

President Trump is leading the sheep to higher richer ground, appreciate his leadership and I plan to stick with him like Job stuck with God despite the Devil trying to disprove the loyalty of a good man.

I am at my happy place and wonderful spot in my life and will be sticking with Trump, Thank you very much.

Personnaly, I agree with a lot of your OP, Palmetto. I've been pretty open about my beliefs. Faith, family, community, service, gratitude...those are all worthy goals.

Where I differ is on the application of those verses. For example, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone" has never meant we can't evaluate a person's actions or fitness for leadership. If it did, we'd never hold anyone accountable because none of us are without sin.

THe same goes for, "Judge not"...it isn't a prohibition against discernment. Jesus was warning against hypocritical and self-righteous judgment not saying we should ignore conduct altogether.

We all have flaws. Trump does. Biden does. I do. You do. That's not really the question, is it??

The question is whether we're willing to evaluate our leaders by the same moral standards regardless of whether they have an R or a D beside their name. Paul (in Romans 13) tells Christians to respect governing authority but nowhere does he suggest that political leaders are beyond moral evaluation or accountability. That's where I think Christians really struggle...not because we're called to be perfect, but because we're called to be consistent. IMO Trump has never once showed consistancy with scripture. In my evaluation, he uses it as a weapon to control his base and nothing more.

At least Riveting as acknowledged most of this, doesn't worship Trump and "says" it's just about prefered policy. For me, that's miles better than these pastors laying hands on him and speaking as though he's the second coming of Christ.

The Republican party is broken. They are more worried about boys playing women's sports. As long as that is not happening they can 'overlook' the other things.

There's a huge difference between being accused of crimes (Jesus) and being convicted of crimes (Trump). If you are a Christian as you claim, then you believe Jesus was sinless. On the other hand, Trump has stated that he finds no reason to seek forgiveness. The only possible explanation is that he believes himself to be so too.

That comparison is blasphemous.

It would certainly require a healthy dose of hypocrisy, a dash of unquestioning obedience, and a bit of suspension of belief.
the most basic tenet of Christianity is that humanity needs God's forgiveness

Donald Trump rejects this. His quote : "I don’t bring God into that picture. I don’t."

his relationship with Christianity is just like every relationship in his life...purely transactional.

You are really desperate with the TDS

Jesus was without sin according to God’s Laws called the Bible but with the Jewish leaders and Other government and groups he was guilty of breaking laws

I will not continue to do you Old time searching for you

It’s called the Bible DIG IN DUDE

I voted against Trump three times, and haven’t voted for a Republican in 10 years.
