If you could pick one basketball season KY could have won it all which would it be?

It would take the tiniest nudge. You don't take the champion to overtime with your best player on the bench all game if you couldn't have buried that "champion" with him able to play.

Also there's at least some chance Pitino would have decided to stick around after back-to-back titles.
Bingo. Also, let’s not forget the FT stat of: UK - 9-17, AZ - 34-41. Just an incredible, eye popping stat. Unreal.

It took way too long until someone said 2015. I mean if we want to title in 2015 or 40-0. Recruiting Probably never drops off cal probably stays hungry. But back to recruiting the most important I mean cal would’ve had his pick up players for four or five years. Losing that season in the final four set the stage for cals exit. He never seemed hungry again after after that.. even the 2017 team was missing a major component at the power forward position. And if we had won it all in 2015 cal would’ve had a stacked class in 2017. 2018. 2019. Since then, since that loss, we haven’t been back to the final four and to be honest I feel like a lot of of our fans love the ride, but we took it so high that not winning at all was painful. I think we realize we want titles no matter what. UK isn’t a laboratory to try and go undefeated. NCAA basketball especially now as demanding as it’s become physically winning your entire season winning your conference tournament and winning the NCAA tournament you you have to be some kind of seriously dominant Deep team. ThAt 2015 team almost did it I don’t see another team like that coming down the pipe in the NCAA with all this NIL I mean that roster will probably cost $50 million today.

97 team I was pretty young (like 6 ) but I remember watching bits and pieces would be cool to have the 3 peat for history.
However the answer here is 2015 undefeated 😭

2015 - Undefeated. And the last team to do it, NOT Indiana as someone mentioned before me.
1966 - For obvious reasons.
1975 - Dang. One more for the Cats, one less for UCLA.
1984

And here's a rare one.....
1977 - Lost to UNC in the Elite 8. I see no one in that year's Final Four that could have beaten the Cats. And of course, we know what happened the next year!!!

I think there is only one rational answer to this question: 1975.

Kentucky adds a title, UCLA loses one. The Cats are that much closer to the only major achievement held by another program: most NCAA titles. It also would have capped my favorite tournament of all time, and brought greater meaning to the greatest Kentucky win of my lifetime, over Indiana in the Elite 8.

On a purely emotional basis, probably 2015. My son was the perfect age to have celebrated another title with. And that 40-0 perfect season would have probably stood forever as the greatest single season in the sport.

But since the challenge is to pick one, I'll stick with 1975
This is the correct answer. It would bring us to 9 and drop UCLA to 10.

2015. 40 and 0. Takes a title from Duke.

2015 would be more memorable nationally to analysts and casual fans and future recruits as well than some of the other choices.

The answer is 2015. However, my personal choice would have been 2003. My last year at UK and that team was a lot of fun.

2015, pretty simple. Otherwise 2010, I loved that team and would have been awesome to get a title in Cals first year

2014 no doubt without hesitation. 40-0. Probably will never be done. There were so many games we should have lost even that season but pulled them out.

Plus if we win that one then Calapari probably doesn't get broken. He would have went 40-0 keeping the legendary momentum going instead of the fall off. More than likely leading to a couple more titles because he would have kept getting the best.

That changes history the most imo.
2014 for me as well. I know others may disagree but I always felt that year broke Cal. He never seemed to recover his swag.
