8 home runs for the Cubs
Swanson (3)
Conforto (2)
PCA (1)
Suzuki (1)
Busch (1)

23-3 lead in the 8th inning

Gonna be at Wrigley Saturday - in the Yeti Yard.

Looking forward to catching about 8 Cubs homerun balls.

They are beating the s/hit out of anyone who gets in their way this week!

In fairness the Padres did have their water boy pitch the 7th, 8th and 9th...

Cubs most reliable pitcher is from Cascade Iowa. My nephew beat him like a rented mule in HS…
Fortunately for the Cubs they’re getting the back end of our rotation. Going to miss May and McGrevy. Advantage Cubs. Cubs are off today while America’s team plays in the Georgia heat. Advantage Cubs. Sweaty, greasy, drunken Cub fans. Advantage “ Best Fans in Baseball “ 😊

Good start for El Birdos. Thought we'd come out sluggish after getting in early this AM after a late come from behind win in 100 degree heat yesterday, while the Cubs sat in the AC all day. Keep the pedal to the metal Cards...

OK, I haven't been watching much baseball, or paying attention to who broadcasts what for MLB any more ever since MLB royally screwed Iowa over with the tightening of local market areas a few years back.

But since when is KCRG channel 9 in CR a CARDINALS affiliate? I'm here at the cabin, expecting to listen to a lightening static filled 670 AM - and my buddy texts me stating the game is on channel 9. And it was?!?! I also was 100% expecting it to be a Cubs broadcast. Then I hear whatever Carey is doing Cardinals TV nowadays, and see Cardinals gear commercials.

It's been 6 years since I've had a Cardinals channel I could watch...

I mean, I'm a Cardinals fan and I'm happy to learn this. But KCRG - whom I grew up watching Jack Brickhouse call Cubs games on KCRG back in the late 60's into the 70's, - a CARDINALS affiliate?

That just seems...wrong.

Is your nephew pouring concrete these days or playing in MLB?

Taillon pitched a rehab start. I assume with the ASG break coming up they will try and squeeze another rehab start out of him, and then call him up after the break if he's feeling good.

An early look at Cubs trade targets. The deadline is on August 3rd this year. One thing to consider is that 2027 could very well feature a work stoppage. I think the Cubs would like to add a starter under team control for at least one more season. How do you value a trade given that some or all of an extra year might be lost?

I hope they don’t sell the farm on rentals. They have to rebuild almost the entire starting staff next season.

They are counting on a bunch of guys to come back from injuries. Steele, Horton, Brown, and multiple guys in the system like Jaxon Wiggins, Will Sanders, Brody McCollough and Brandon Birdsell. That's a lot of hoping. Assad and Cabrerra are about to the only two real starters on the 40 man coming back (For sure), next year.
