After celebrating the 4th Saturday, I will be leaving for a Celebrity Cruise to the Bahamas…

I have actually never been on a cruise before. The girlfriend booked it for my birthday, so I am excited but a little nervous.

Was wondering if anyone had any tips or things I should know? For example, I just found out there’s a dress code for evening dinners. Also, I am wondering if anyone has gotten seasick on one before?

TIA

I do Norwegian because I hate the formal dining stuff but it can be nice. Hopefully you got an all drink package if you are a drinker just make sure you know what is included and don’t be drinking the top shelf stuff. It’s pretty hard to get sea sick unless you hit some big storm waves so if so take some Dramamine before hand. We always explore the first day and find a couple nice spots on small bars or lounges not in the center of chaos. Take the stairs and you can eat and drink as much as you want and not gain a pound.

I’ve only been on 1 cruise so I have no clue if they are similar. Sea Sickness wasn’t an issue for me but I was on a big *** royal Caribbean ship. It was like a city on the ocean. Couldn’t really even tell we were on water. I’m pretty sure celebrity ships are quite a bit smaller so get yourself some non drowsy dramamine.

As far as dining goes. At least on RC, they gave you a time and table when you get on the ship. That was your set time and table for every dinner. Don’t forget of you don’t eat.

The time at each port is short. Get out and enjoy the day but make sure to be back on time or they will leave your ***. And it isn’t so easy as to just come and go as you please when at a port. Checking in and out of the boat us a process and not just on and off as you might think.

Try to enjoy some of the shows on the boat in the evenings. They were way more entertaining than I thought they would be.

Have fun!

good advice here. Wife and I were still discovering cool spots on the ship the last day. Take some time and explore every little nook and cranny. They waste no space on these ships. And yes, the center of the ship is where all the chaos is. Fun for a night or 2 but gets loud and obnoxious after a couple days.

Also. One other thing I thought of. On those days at sea, if you are wanting a nice spot at the pool get up early and get your spot. It fills up quickly.

And you just need one the first night?

That is all I have ever needed
The first few cruises I went on I did not take, and did not need, anything. Then I had a couple in a row where I didn't feel good overnight on the first night, so started taking one the first day as a precaution. I've never needed anything after the first overnight o. The ship.

Some people take dramamine but I couldn't even tell I was on a ship. There are a lot of fun little things on cruise ships- I enjoyed the comedy club and comedians.

Don't sweat the dress code. Some folks will ignore it, others will go way overboard (tuxedos), just do what's comfortable and easy to pack.
