Speaking of Spieth, I doubt he even makes the cut at Royal Birkdale in a couple weeks, even though he won it last time it was there. Similar to how Koepka didn't make it at Shinnecock.

Went to this once with John Deere employee passes. At that time the free food and drink with these was awesome.

they cut back on that now. Today it’s just a lot of walking and wondering “who the heck are these no names?”

My God these guys hit so far now. I probably saw 15 balls in the sand left of 10 green from guys going for it in 2 today. I probably haven't seen that many in my lifetime and I spend a little bit of time there every year because I love watching that flighted spinning wedge shot in on the third. Granted it was downwind today, but that wind was basically non existent. I was amazed at how high a percentage of players going for it is now vs the debut years of the course.

Interesting to note the old guys playing it traditionally (Johnson/Glover) both wedged in from a hundred for borderline tap ins. They had pretty good days....

And back to length, it's gonna be insane in 5-10 years. ALL these high school kids at our club easily hit (and some carry) 300 plus. I swing a driver 107ish on good days. These kids blast by me and they're all already well above the tour average (about 116 last year). Some of these kids are 16 and swing in the upper 120s. I think that whole golf ball rollback thing for the tour is going to get real before this next generation laps the current set of young guys.

Bring back wooden clubs! They still use wood in professional baseball :)
