Gonna be a "bad" jobs report in July too as Trump fires many more government employees with latest scotus rulings. Thankfully all job growth under trump has been for american citizens in the private sector. A welcomed change from his predecessor wasting tax payer money on unnecessary government jobs that offer zero positive functions or utility, all in an effort to fudge the reporting (plus all of his illegal aliens taking jobs)

Stock markets continue to break records daily and gas prices are currently going down (bigly) with oil now in the 60s per barrel again so inflation data will cool. Trump and bessent said from the beginning of decimating Iran's military and nuclear programs that we would have a couple months of high gas prices and then they'd begin to reset to their previous Trump levels (much better compared to Biden/dem gas prices btw)

You can get use to bad job reports and wage growth for the next decade.

AI is just getting warmed up and anybody that says they can slow it down is lying.

The socialists will chase them out of states and that will be the game until the Feds try and take a crack at a wealth tax.

My real estate agent was telling me she's seeing foreclosures now for the first time in years in what has been hot markets. Middle class folks are losing their jobs.
Had a similar discussion recently with a good friend who is a broker.

Despite the dismal economic outlook, my chief concern is the absolute loss of our American ideals. I am depressed at the country we are leaving my children; it seems that for some time we have not been the nation I thought we were, and it saddens me deeply. The America I have know for nearly 70 years is gone.

And people wonder why the Democratic Socialists are gaining traction.
Because the democrat party is the root cause of the inflation problem we are still fighting and the party as a whole offers zero policy solutions and instead has defaulted their agenda to "orange mam bad". The communist takeover of the democrat party is not surprising to me, unfortunately (the 19% polling meant nobody was happy). While it is funny to see losers like Dan Goldman and Scott Weiner be turned on by the very radicals they empowered with their nonsense it is still not a good direction for the country.

Thankfully the rise of leftist socialism will likely help the political right as most american citizens are not interested in that messaging.

boomers had a fever dream reality. They had it better than there parents and it was great. The problem is that the economic system is now completely designed to concentrate the wealth of the nation in the hands of a few. Those few aren't doing philanthropy and so the social contracts are collapsing.
We are burdened with unimportant culture wars, while the wealth disparities get worse. Our children are inheriting a worse situation, no doubt.

Must be an absolute shocker to a boomer at the end of life to have to come to grasp with the concept not everything was going to happen with post war growth and prosperity and the idea that every generation was going to love spending more and more on government ran programs was in fact a terrible fu.cking idea.

Unfortunately this has been a predicted outcome for many years now. Too many people buying houses over asking price due to supply shortages while also assuming ~7% mortgages and rising property taxes and utility rates as the cherry on top. Many people are simply existing beyond their means.

The housing market at least has some positive indicators down the road with deportations surging which will open up more housing supply in a very tight market. I worry that commercial real estate is facing a much more serious problem in the near future though.

I think America will collapse in 25-35 years.

I'll be 70+ years old then...I'm glad I don't have kids.

And I very much hope I'm wrong.

hahah , no sir i don't believe the housing market will suddenly have more properties to sell, when low wage renters with no ssn# and no credit are deported. Supply will spike when middle income folks are bankrupted and their homes are seized and auctioned off.

Yeah...the lying in our political system is unbelievable...Trump lies all day and 100 million Americans back him regardless.

Are you unaware of how many non citizens have been given mortgages on homes?

non citizens is a broad term. The HUD closed the small loophole allowing non-citizens to get FHA loans. Illegals are not able to get mortgages. You can only legally deport people who are here illegally. The controversy you are referencing has 0 actual statistics around how many illegals ever got through these loopholes. But I can tell you like to imagine its millions. But its very likely not even 10's of thousands.

However, it was/is a problem that we need to correct. But its not going to have any effect on the housing market like you seem to project. Also, it doesn't help anyone who's getting foreclosed on ... right?

Should have legislated fiscal responsibility decades ago.

you have to put 10% down on a house. You have to put 20% down on a car.

also stop allowing corporations to own single family homes. Maybe even not allow them to own duplexes or 4 plexes.

people will borrow every penny offered to them because they don’t know any better.

I have a hard time believing there are enough good jobs in Des Moines metro area to support all those $375,000 and up homes.

what should the gross household income be to afford a home that costs $375,000 assuming they put down $37,500 down payment ?

I expected questions of economics to be discussed, argued, and dealt with in the manner they always have been. Nothing shocking at all.

It is, however, a shocker that so many Americans are so filled with anger and hatred. It is a shocker that we would enthusiastically elect and support one of the most vile, vulgar, and disgusting human beings in the country to President, and cheer when he aggressively divides our country.

He is everything I thought our country stood against. Mean, thoughtless, narcissistic, corrupt, anti-democratic, compassionless. He hates the western world and all it stands for. And 35% of the country are orgasmic over it.

Politics is politics. But America is no longer America.

It was the 6 million 2020 Biden voters that stayed home in 2024 that won it for Trump.

They didn’t vote for Trump, they stayed home. What did the left do to turn off a big portion of its base?

I think many people couldn't imagine that voters would elect Trump a second time and just didn't think the election was as serious as the one in 2020. That and the fact that many people still can't bring themselves to vote for a female President let alone a black female President.

Because they are fighting against the billionaires and billionaire corporations that are effing everyone over. The Fox News attacks on Mamdani are failing because New Yorkers love him. Even the lies about billionaires leaving NYC are being seen. Nobody’s leaving. It’s one of the greatest cities in the world. Why would people leave it? Especially the rich.

People have been duped into thinking they are living the American Dream when actually it’s just the top 10%. The rest of us just think we are. The younger adults can’t afford housing right now, especially in nice middle class, safe neighborhoods.

Yeah..if America collapses, which I believe it will, the rest of the world will suffer although not as bad as Americans.
They will suffer worse, IMO. Because of geography.

easy pickings for Russia and China who will attack.

You can also google the number of billionaires by country. If a wealth tax is started the USA has almost a thousand to tap, including a trillionaire.

Europe don’t have many at all. Germany Italy and the UK combine have about 350.

You know you can look those statistics up right? After 2 years of growth New York has seen a 12k population loss in the roughly 6 months he has been there. A city that gets loads of new people every day has a net outflow.

The Democrats who downplayed Biden's decline are a huge, huge part of the problem. Just political malpractic of the highest order. If he had announced he wasn't seeking a second term and there had been a proper primary, I have zero doubt Trump would have been soundly defeated.
