I don't think I did. Some random person comes in with some anecdotal story to try and make a dig at Cal.
The point was , Cal was a slimy, used car salesman who lied every time his mouth moved . But most everyone already knew that.

The way Cal crapped on Reed and the fans that year was unforgivable. Reed would have a good game and in the postgame PC, Cal would subtly take a jab at Reed and the fans basically defending his stance for not starting him and trying to prop up DJ Wagner. It's why Reed wearing Arkansas gear and supporting Cal over his loyalty to UK is all the more baffling. The way Cal treated him as a second rate citizen because he was from KY, just so he could stick it to the fans was embarassing for the program.

I agree but I also am pretty sure Reed felt pressured to do that for other reasons.

Its pretty telling that Cal insisted on starting wagner as a freshman but then went to Arkansas and put Wagner on the bench where he belonged. That too was infuriating. He literally sacrificed our entire post season run to stick it to UK fans.

I agree that it was maddeningly stupid the way Cal stubbornly insisted on starting Wagner over Reed (and Dillingham) that entire season.

But it it’s also dumb for you to claim that’s what “sacrificed our entire post season run.” Wagner played only 17 minutes in the Oakland game, far less than both Reed and Dillingham. The problem wasn’t that Reed didn’t play enough in the post season, instead it was that he just played like crap.

Okay, and some random poster came by with a new account to post some 10 year old story that may or may not be true to try and imply that? Get out of here.

and I was OK with it as long as UK was winning. I'm not ashamed to say that - because we as fans accepted that going in. You can't be a self absorbed ******* pretending to be a saint when you are losing at UK.

We were already down by maybe 8 before they ever came in. 1) they were a 16 seed and killing their confidence early was key. 2) that game had severely limited number of possessions, by their design, which greatly exacerbated the negligence of not having reed and rob in all game long.

You are making up BS here …apparently assuming we’re too dumb to know differently.

Reed entered the game within the first four or five minutes when the score was about even (in fact, I think UK had like a one point lead at the time). Oakland jumped out to the lead AFTER Reed entered the game, not before. And with the guy Reed was guarding being the one who hurt us most.

Again, starting Wagner over Reed was indisputably stupid. But it was plainly NOT what caused us to lose that Oakland game.

So in a limited possession game, its ok to sit two far superior players the first five minutes?

That is insane. As we know though, Cal and Pope apologists just glaze everything. Zero objectivity.

You're way too attached to your one general idea (starting Wagner and Edwards over Reed and Dillingham was bad - which is correct) to be objective about this specific case. Reed was bad that game. That's not Cal-glazing. The reason we lost was Cal's lack of gameplanning and preparation. We didn't prepare for their weird zone and we didn't prepare to defend the guy who does nothing but shoot threes because Cal didn't watch much tape and didn't adjust to what opponents do.

So are you just gonna gloss over your false claim that we were already down when Reed came in? You could at least admit you were wrong.

You are conflating two different issues. Was it stupid to start Wagner over Reed all season? Yes, absolutely. But was that the reason we lost the Oakland game? No, absolutely NOT. The facts just don’t support your claim. Reed played far more minutes than Wagner that night, he played terribly, and things didn’t fall apart until AFTER he came in the game.
