No this ref is just awful, multiple clear yellows against Bosnia not called and a play where the defender jumps in front of the player and collides is somehow a reckless, dangerous play.

You're an idiot then, defender jumped in front of him and they collided. There was nothing on purpose as they both stumbled.
He didn't purposely step on him. The Bosnia guys purposely drag our guys down every time they run past them.
The not on purpose part is why it's not a red, IMO, but you can't ignore the raking the back of his leg and stepping on his foot - even if inadvertent, that's a yellow.

Let's say a huge thanks to Richards and Ream who were huge on defense, clearing the lines, heading away balls, blocking shots (and playing well in the build up too) - and especially sweet for Ream, who has endured a ton of criticism here and elsewhere. Balogun is without doubt our best striker so losing him is huge. Maybe we get some luck and it’s downgraded to yellow

Was surprised by the Reyna substitution- guy just does not impress me at all and still think Luna was the better choice…his contribution so far has been an otherwise meaningless goal.
Would rather Poch substituted for Aaronson because he will at least run until his lungs fall out. Not saying Berhalter is better - but he doesn’t seem to disappear most of the game.

Yellow would should have been max. Balos was knocked off balance by contact prior to the ball arriving. Saw graphic today of multiple similar tackles that were not red from this WC.
On Reyna guy has 4 caps under Poch. Plays extremely limited minutes for his club team (20 appearances across all competitions) and he is somehow WC quality. I don’t get it. He’s the modern era Freddy Adu.

Tell us you think you know more about talent than the coach who has just won the most WC matches in USMNT history without telling us.
When Poch get us deeper into the tournament then Bruce Arena we can have that conversation.

Reyna has skill and you saw that with the goal he scored. He also has size. We have to trust Poch knows what he is doing. The guy has been a world class manager in his career but to your point, if we lose to Belgium it’s going to dampen the Poch enthusiasm

Nice deflection, Poch has a much better overall coaching resume than Arena and more wins now. But yeah throw up obstacles to avoid the discussion that isn't going your way.

Unlike most domestic leagues, FIFA does not have an appeal process. The red card.stands. Hope it doesn't get.worse.
I would like to see a VAR rule change so that if VAR calls the onfield red over to review a possible red card, the ref is authorized to give yellow. Right now, it's red or nothing, which puts undue pressure on the ref IMO.
