With the 22nd pick ....

Tough to get a feel for what the new GM. The below mock roundup looks at multiple mocks to give a sense what is being predicted for the Sixers. Based on the roundup, it really does seem to be wide open.

I don’t follow the NBA much anymore and have been burned by the Sixers too many times re: the draft and trades (Jeff Ruland and Roy Hinson anyone). Objectively what do ball-knowers think here? Not just Philly homers

I mean, this is a huge upgrade for Philly IMO
Although, I when Philly essentially traded Daugherty for Hinson and Moses, Catledge and picks for Ruland and CT Robinson I would have said they overpaid but I didn't think it would be as bad as it was. Hinson was a beast his last year in Cleveland and was on 24--should have been perfect next to Barkley. Ruland's injury was the key there but trading Moses was just stupid.

Crazy thing is they will most likely be lower 1st round picks and the Sixers kept their unprotected Clippers picks and with Clippers trading Kwami Leonard those picks could be quite good. Seems like the market was tanking for Jaylen Brown and the Celtics took what they could get.
The Clippers pick is involved in the trade.

That is not what WIP is reporting.
It's worded awkwardly everywhere but this is the best explanation I've seen
"That 2028 selection headed to Boston, reportedly the more favorable of the 76ers and Clippers, is great on paper. "
But it's "reportedly" so...

Let’s play Embiid 25 minutes a game. No back to backs.
Probably just me being stuck in the past but I can't stand guys sitting out games. But, sadly, yes, that's probably what would have to happen to give him a chance
Then what do you do in the playoffs though--bump him up to 36 minutes or you still play him just half the game
Lots of money for this but, again, you're probably right

I still can't believe that someone (Portland maybe) couldn't come up with a better package--maybe Brown's value is WAY less than most thought
On paper this looks like a great move by the Sixers. The only potential downside I see is how is Brown going to react when he realizes that at best he will be the 3rd option whenever Embid plays after complaining that he wasn’t the No. 1 option whenever Embid plays Tatum returned.
