Can one of the board intellectuals such as @fatpiggy or @TigerGrowls explain to me why Trump would suspend tariffs to reduce prices, as Trump told us that tariffs lower prices and increase domestic production?

The source is Fox Business, for what it’s worth

So Trump is admitting that he caused a Food Supply Emergency? I mean, I guess I'm shocked by his admission, surely Biden or Obama caused this.

He knows that his supporters are either unable or unwilling (or both) to make the connection that he caused it without him explicitly saying “this is my fault”. While Trump is clearly not an intelligent person, especially as his brain rots from dementia, he is highly skilled in manipulation, conning, and failing upwards.

Ok dummy. Glad you asked to be educated. Domestic supplies of fertilizer are short which could affect the food supply so Trump correctly is removing/reducing tariffs to encourage foreign suppliers to send more to the US.

Youre welcome for the lesson in common sense.

😆 🤣 😂

So reducing tariffs encourages global trade which encourages competition which results in lower prices? So if reducing tariffs lowers prices does that mean increasing or implementing tariffs raises prices? Interesting questions…

Increasing tariffs is to protect domestic suppliers ability to sell in the US squidward.

Here is another interesting question. If tariffs are bad, why have so many nations, including so-called allies, had them for years against the US?

Subtle, strategically, and reasonably placed tariffs make sense. What this mockery of an administration did with tariffs is inflationary and destroys an economy.
