It was actually DOGSO. I imagine VAR knew the impact it would have on the match and stayed silent or recommend no action.
It wouldn’t have been a red card, because it was in the penalty area and the goalkeeper made a legitimate play on the ball. Kane drug his feet a little bit to make sure he received contact, but usually that is always called a penalty. I’m shocked VAR didn’t have the referee go to the monitor to look at it.
If that is true this is always the most stupid logic. We talk about it in all our sports. If a ref doesn't call a foul or penalty because they don't want to impact the game, they already have an impact by not calling that foul.
England is giving themselves a ton of chances. It feels like they’re gonna get this tied at some point, but the game can be real damn cruel.

I will say this game had shots on goal. If this game wasn't the exception and more the rule, I would watch more.
That was as good of a game as you will ever see. Best match of the tournament that I have watched.
I mean, to be fair, you do say all the time how much you hate international soccer, and the only purpose of international soccer is to get players hurt so they can't play for their clubs.

Soccer is just like any other sport. Some games are great, other games are boring or poorly played. The thing about soccer is the score doesn’t always reflect how good or bad the game was. There can be some very dull and terrible games that end 1-1 and there can be some very exciting games that end 0-0. Portugal vs Colombia was a great game that ended 0-0.
England should really enjoy their stay in Mexico City. I’m sure they’ll be treated very well.
