Sandro has to add a Seton Hall Basketball tattoo on his arm now. I have some ideas- a
Basketball symbol with word curving across the top of the basketball “SETON HALL” and the word curving under the basketball symbol “BASKETBALL”.

I remember Sandro signing to play basketball at SHU. I went to see his Monteverde team
at “The City of Palms Tournament” in Ft Myers,Fl. I was born in Rahway,N.J. and Kevin
Boyle played H.S. basketball at Johnson Regional located in Clark,N.J. Clark is next to
Rahway. Kevin Boyle knew me by sight, coached at St Patrick’s in N.J. and then at Monteverde. Sandro had potential- tall with ball skills and worked hard every year to reach this
point in his life- signing a 4 yr deal with the Lakers for 52 million. Congrats and well deserved!!

Got to love and be happy for Sandro. Has worked his butt off to stick in the NBA and now gets rewarded for it. And he’s proud of his SHU experience

unfortunately that four year player development story, etc., will now be a thing of the past.

Josh Lewenberg: Mamu really wanted to be back in Toronto. Could’ve seen him taking a discount to stay if the $ was close, but Raptors were never gonna be able to compete with that, especially after taking on salary in the trade. Happy for Sandro. Lakers are a great fit & this is life-changing $

As Laker fan, I am thrilled I have Sandro on my team to root for. And as a Sandro fan, glad he he getting that all important 2nd contract. Lots of life's worries just walked outside.

I have no idea how I would take this if he wasnt a SH guy. I like his game for sure, just didnt see him as the free agent a team that just lost Lebron would target. And, for context, other than Lebron, I could not name any free agent big guys.

To a large extent, yes. But you still see some of the 4 or 3 year PD stories at one stop. Draft had a few.

Yes a few but that ship has sailed for SHU.
Yup and yes that goes to our issue with player retention. Holding onto a Karaban, Zuby or Stirtz (changed schools but just including him because he jumped with the coach) has proven to be harder for us because we don’t retain our best older players.

on the same note, shu was behind almost every team in the "showcase our nba players" recruiting tactic. so it helps get rid of a disadvantage in that regard

The big ticket move they made was 7'2 Center Walker Kessler who got 4 years $130 Million. Technically a sign and trade. He's a big, shot-blocking, rim-running Center to catch lobs from Luka and anchor the defense. The opposite type of Big from Sandro.

Sandro will stretch the floor and give a different look than Kessler. He has the versatility to play as a stretch 4 or a small-ball stretch 5. Think of Sandro as taking the role of Hachimura.

I remember him going coast to coast
When he was a freshmen during SHU's Media Day he was nearly ignored by every single reporter. Now he can buy and sell every one. LOL

Good things happen to people who work hard and respect everyone. No better example than Mamu.
I was very impressed with our freshman big after a defensive rebound and going coast to coast. Another example of a top 200 player over exceeding through hard work and a great work ethic.

Congratulations. Nice NBA role player. Wish the Knicks had signed him. Would have fit nicely though probably more expensive than their current back-up bigs. And Clyde like him a lot.

Would have loved him on my Knicks, of course, but that wasn’t happening with the cap.

Good question. I don’t know and the salary cap stuff makes my brain bleed. Also don’t know what they actually offered Mitch.
