Apparently, she's going to visit Iowa again, but what she said about Iowa fit into only two lines of text, while what she said about USC, UCLA, Kentucky, Maryland, Duke, Illinois filled 6-10 lines. This may not mean anything, but I wouldn't say she seems very excited about Iowa.

Probably another Divine Bourrage type who doesn't like CC or the Iowa culture.

It looks like it will be between Iowa and Minnesota, and the girls are already working on comments.

Gopher poster who has been knowledgeable in the past about Gopher WBB recruiting agrees with you, stating:

"In my personal opinion, here is where I would rate the last four teams:

Favorite: Tie between Iowa/Gophers (could truly go either way)
2nd in line: TCU (a lot of money)
least likely but not out of the running: Ohio State"

Why any parent would let their daughter consider playing for the drunk is beyond me

2027 RECRUITING BOARD
Kyle:

First of all, thank you for all that you do. In looking at the 2027 recruiting board, I see categories for committed, uncommittted with a visit, uncommitted without a vist, and committted elsewhere. I recall seeing one target (Madeline Mignery) who I think has certain schools but Iowa was not on the list. Is that correct? Are there any others? Maybe those could be moved to the committed elsewhere with school as TBD or create a separate category uncommitted Iowa not on list.

Not trying to complicate it but it is great to see which players are still in the process for Iowa.

5 in 5 rule is going to leave this pretty light. Imagine you could count on some defection, but Iowa won't be sure to "graduate" anyone before the '27 class. Maybe a handful of targets, but I think we have to take all the HS recruiting with a large grain of salt at this point.

I'm kind of wondering why it's so quiet on Destiny Manyawu . I really thought she would have committed by now but we don't hear anything about where she's leaning or if we're still even recruiting her.
Why would she be committed? It's quiet for everyone. It's June. I would expect nothing other than a top 5-10 list in the next 45 days. 81% of ESPNs top 100 is uncommitted with little news anywhere.

Nation Williams has already published her Top10 and Iowa made the cut. In addition, she has already been on campus for a weekend long official visit. Possible that JJ is making a bigger push for Williams over Manyawu but that’s mere speculation.

Would Iowa accept commits from both June official visitors (Wilson and Medeck)? If they both commit, would Iowa then be done with ‘27 recruiting, or do they hold a spot for Williams?

Amari played AAU under Nation's mom. Based on her comments about why she chose Iowa, it seems like Nation's mom's recommendation of Jan as a coach was a big factor. Plus, if Amari stays for a 5th year, she'd be on the team for Nation's freshman year if she comes here.

Well that’s enlightening and possibly fortuitous for the Hawkeyes as well….. I mean if the mother of a current top prospect recruit was highly influential in the decision of another player currently on the roster, that can only be helpful to Iowa’s chance to land the top prospect as well.

Great question. I can only guess they would take any of the three, but not all three would likely commit. Can't imagine anything will happen until they see Jensen's return to the 4-1 in action, and team needs/opportunities are more clear, but who wants to predict anything these days?

Regarding timing, speculation by Gopher beat writer (Rob Kane) is that Wilson will commit somewhere in July. As far as Medeck’s timing, would think perhaps she might feel some pressure to commit to secure her spot at Iowa. If, somehow, Williams were to commit first, doubt Iowa would accept a commitment from Medeck.

In the clips, Williams is always dribbling the ball like a wing and Medeck under the rin. They are very different players each other.

I only watched a little of the U16 team last summer, but don’t recall Williams playing like a wing. Stats show her as the team’s leading rebounder who took a total of 3 3-pointers in 6 games. 247 scouting report describes Williams as “one of the country’s biggest interior threats.”

I recognize that Medeck is a post. Still think Medeck could lose out in a number’s game if Wilson and Williams were both to commit before she did. Doubt very much that Jan prefers to sign 4 in the ‘27 high school class with potentially all 11 from 2026-27 coming back via 5-in-5.

She probably started playing under the rim because she was taller than the other kids and stopped growing at 6-2, changing positions. This is very common. Now she looks like a wing. And she's a 5-star recruit, #14 in the class of 2027. I don't believe someone of that level would worry enough to hastily decide because other girls might decide before her. But I hope she chooses Iowa. Iowa seems like a good chance with her.

I personally am hopeful Mya becomes a Hawk. Another 4 star in the Hawks Nest would be great. If Medeck or Williams comes on board at a later date so be it. Looking for a solid pair of guards for the future.

I went to one of her high school's open gyms last summer and she spent about 50% on post stuff and 50% on stretch 4/wing type stuff so she is definitely working on evolving her game. She's going to a handful in college, so hope either Iowa lands her or she goes D3.

Harper Dunn -- Is Iowa still interested in her? She is the 6'6" post player from New Mexico. In an article on X, she mentions two visits, one to Michigan and one to Oklahoma?

SIAP:
ESPN has announced that for the first time, they have signed high school basketball players to merchandising deals

#1 recruit in the country on the girls side @special.kayyy11 and #2 in the country on the boys side @beckhamblackk have both signed to ESPN!

Don't like the sound of this for two reasons if not more.
1) Don't think they'll push her into the B1G much less IA.
2) This is starting to get the other foot in the door (NIL being 1st) of college looking more like the W. Can't stand the drama agendas of W.
