Paraguay has given up 5 goals in 4 games. USA scored 4 of them.
As far as just individual skill and athleticism, the US starting group is among the very best I’ve seen in this tournament.

Obviously that may not translate to ending up as one of the best teams, but it’s promising.

Athleticism yes. Elite. Skill? Not elite, but pushing top 10. Big time game experience , no. Question is how will Ream & GK hold up vs teams like Belgium, Senegal or Spain.

Yeah, it’s obvious the back is kinda frightening. Poch obviously has a lot of trust in Ream because of his experience and knowledge, but he scares the **** outta me against a great attacking team.

This US team can really put some pressure on teams with their speed but the US really hasn’t played a team yet that can put a lot of pressure on the back line. They won’t really with Bosnia but after that it starts getting more aggressive, especially with Senegal. They get after it.

Yeah. I think we’re gonna struggle to score goals in round of 16 & hopefully quarterfinals. Athleticism is great, but it take technical skill at that level. We’re not at that top level on that front yet, other than Pulisic. Maybe Reyna, but he’s a consistently underperforming head case. He played his way out of a lot of playing time vs Türkiye. Saw a podcast with Donovan & Howard where Donovan just eviscerated him. At least his helicopter parents are out of the picture. For now.

I know Belgium has more star players (although Mane is easily the best player in either team). But I hope Belgium wins that game.

Senegal is fast. Kinda scary with our back line.

After seeing today's matches and some really good teams going home, it makes me thankful we got *what SEEMS like* a manageable first knockout game. I am not counting the win at all, but it is very winnable. The US really need to win at least one real knockout pressure cooker match to know what that feels like, for the game to grow here.
