I'm just shocked I didn't see Barrett Sallee as the author.
I mean, us, Arkansas, Auburn. All reasonable picks for last. It may be predictable to see it, but it is also difficult to argue with.
So, he is saying we go 4 and 8 with win over Auburn? If we are that bad, then Auburn would probably finish last. At least he got us beating Minnesota. That guy is an idiot.
True, but unlike most other times, this feels accurate. Maybe even optimistic.
If this prediction is correct, State will be 2-7 going into the Auburn game, after losing 7 straight SEC games.

I know you are kidding and why because Sallee always picked us last , but in this situatioin, he's an Auburn alum so he definitely wouldn't pick us to beat them

I think Auburn beats us with their new coach. You know he has to be circling games that give him a chance in year one to get to 6 wins. The expectations are low, but not so low to lose to us.
I think Auburn is an SEC team we can beat. I actually think their expectations are too high with this new coach.
Any idiot could see that Jon Sumrall should have been hired by Auburn. And Lane Kiffin to Florida, with Alex Golesh as a backup candidate there (after others turned them down).
It's amazing to me how these ADs can all 17 this up so badly. Stricklin just continues to make bad hires. I have no idea what Cohen was thinking, there were a dozen available coaches better than Golesh. And neither Sumrall or Golesh are fits where they currently are.
We “can” beat them but I don’t think Lebby is coaching at that point. Hell, we might be better off if he isn’t.
Once again, National Sports media expectations of Mississippi State Football are TOO HIGH. Only reason State is picked 16 is because there aren’t 17 teams in the league.
Obviously remains to be seen how Sumrall does on the field, but so far he had really won over the UF fan base, and the fans were highly critical of the hire at first. Player retention and recruiting has gone well, but they may have more to do with their new football GM.
Stricklin tried to get Kiffin and failed, probably due in part to Stricklin's insistence on hiring his own GM. But I think UF is better off without Lane. Sumrall may have the best available choice, even if he ultimately does not work out.

If Lebby can survive 1-15 in SEC, in the fashion he did… I don’t know why people think he will be fired. To every normal person, keeping Hutzler and last season would have been enough for us to move on. Make a change to give our fans some reason for hope if nothing else.
