Or Tears? According to some X account that has 457,000 followers. Ouch.

Penn State is not a Blue Blood. And Nebraska is a great program. Has not been one since Tom Osborne retired. Not sure why Maryland is in the Very Good bin either.

Must have been underwritten by the ACC or ESPN. Pitt has been bad forever. Syracuse, BC, CAL, Stanford and UNC as good programs is laughable. And Purdue as good??? We belong where we are for now I hope

Bad list

Oklahoma and Nebraska are bluebloods
PSU is iffy
Miami not in great programs list is laughable

A lot of recency bias here

If they are looking at a 100 year time frame Miami is not a great program. To put them there would be, as you say, recency bias. A 40 year time frame? Yes.

The author used the Northwestern State logo instead of the Northwestern logo. Northwestern State is an f'ed up program.

I don't see a timeframe there on the graphic, but figured it has to be recent (30 / 40 years ish) as FSU, UF and Clemson are listed, and none were particulary good (sans Clemson's title in 81) until the mid-late 80s (and Clemson 30 years post that)

I'm pretty sure you would agree for LONGER term (Forget about recency bias), FSU is ahead of Miami?

I can't honestly say that unfortunately

Miami has more all-time wins, national titles, first round draft pickss and leads the head-to-head series
FSU has the larger fan base (with an on-campus stadium), iconic traditions, and more Heisman trophy winners

When on, Miami's brand is top 10 - when they're off, it suffers immensely

FSU's brand, though taken a hit lately, is pretty strong. When on, borderline top 5, probably 7/8, but definitely top 10. When off, and Miami's is off, it still beats theirs
When they're both on, they're about equal

Miami has had had an incredible amount talent as well
That 2001 team was one for the ages
Our 2013 team was loaded, but the 01 Miami team was next level

Lol Penn State is most definitely NOT a blue blood in football.
They're right there
The Sandusky scandal tarnished them forever, but they've got the pedigree

7th all time wins
9th in all time bowls
Winningest D1 coach of all time
Iconic brand

Only thing they're lacking is national titles
Them having only 2 is nuts

If they're not a blue blood, they're right on the cusp

FSU’s run from 1987 -2000 is one of the best in college football history. I believe it was 13 straight years with 10 or more wins and in the top 5 in the final rankings. During that period they alone of the Florida schools played both Miami and Florida, which were pretty much top 5 programs for almost the entire period. They had 2 NCs during that time and probably would have had a few more if not playing both Miami and UF each season. If there were a playoff back then, probably a good chance of more NCs.

yeah, that's a no from me dog

if history matters, where is Army? OU and Nebraska 'great' while PSU is blue blood?

doesn't matter, history and 3.95 buys you a large coffee at 7-eleven. all that matters is now and the future

Princeton won title 28 times so obviously the posted tiers are modern. Of course athletes are better now but the modern "student' part is debatable. I'm sure a lot of today's college title teams would thrash past NFL title winners. Lombardy's NFL title winning Packers lost to 1963 college all stars. The 63 Packers were 13-1 having outscored opponents, 415-148 (won the league championship game, 16-7, over the Giants)

Oklahoma, yeah. Neb, nah. Not since being in the B1G.

PSU really snuck in at the end there. Nah to them too. Agree on Miami.

You're prob right re. Huskers and Nitts
I'd put Huskers above PSU though due to the natties
Miami, as much as I don't like them, has the hardware to back up a great program ranking
