Then that tells you all you need to know about how 17ing shítty this staff is. Took them a year just to figure out how tall a kid was.

You think at least somebody walking up to him and shaking his hand is a bare minimum requirement to get an offer. That’s the only interaction needed to assess if he has the height needed
Exactly. You have seen the pic with Loadholt. Its been around for months. He is standing side by side. If they thought he was 6'4 we are in deep schitt cause the staff is dumber than I thought. I mean I'm not a Lebby hater but I'm not making excuses. And surely they have watched film ?? Right ? I hope

What line am I toting. I’m stating facts. Some of yall don’t know jack **** about the program and latch onto anything you can to be negative. We dropped the kid. He commited publicly but we had zero plans to take him.
Funny how you never mentioned that before. I wonder how many of our other commits are also frauds we’re going to drop.

You think that was the first time Lebby and Loadholt had seen the kid ? I have been seeing pictures of him and Loadholt for 6 months. Maybe he was wearing elevator shoes when they saw him previously
You realize there are early offers and real offers right? Apparently not...

Then you obviously are dumber than I thought. I came in here last November talking about how we would move on from some recruits.
You love just cherry pick and be a prisoner of the moment. We have the most ignorant fan base in the SEC

What part did I make up?? Show your work. Some of us have actual sources some of you all make us lies to fit a narrative. Tell me where what I posted was wrong.

Isn’t it better cutting bait now instead of waiting for him to enroll and then realize we made a mistake??

We are dead last in the SEC in 247’s composite rankings for the ‘27 class

Currently, the only OL commitment that we have is also the lowest rated recruit from this class

When it comes to SEC teams that we are at least pretending to compete with(Ark, Vandy, SC, UK, Missouri), every one of them aside from SC has 4-6 OL committed.

Our line was a disaster last year, we whiffed in the portal on a top flight LT, and now we’re clearly struggling to even get our hands on mid grade HS talent. The frustration isn’t about this one kid. It’s the fact that our staff continues to vividly display that it has absolutely no 17n idea as to what it’s doing

Signing day is in December. Looking at rankings at the end of June isn’t a reflection of what the class will look like in Dec

Yeah so why is a non-sec caliber player decommiting such a big deal?

It kind of is. A lot of the good players are already committed elsewhere. And it’s going to be a lot harder to flip them than it would have been to just commit them early & keep them. Can the class improve some by December? Sure. But we’ve dug ourselves a very deep hole & have a LOT of ground to make up to even have a class that’s not a disaster. Theres a reason schools that are serious about football are recruiting now while Lebby is enjoying his summer vacation.

Because we have a ton of posters on this board who will do anything and everything to find fault with Mississippi State university. They can’t wait to be the first to post negative shite no matter what.

14th ranked player in MS, if the staff can't develop a guy like that, they got no business coaching football at Mississippi State

Guy can play either line, get him in the weight room and find out

Oh I forgot we got Shaud in there showing them how to dance around with bands

He’s not an SEC quality lineman. Why should we spend 4 years trying develop him into that? You can say Hevesy did but there’s a reason he’s currently working at Lowe’s right now

Around this time last year. Nickerson flipped to Mizz, Womack was committed to Auburn Addison was committed to Michigan state. We were in a battle with OM and others for cotton, Henderson was commited to Ark, Noil was commited to Nebraska, Crittendon commited to FSU. Your take holds no water. You want to drop the bag you drop it in Nov Dec. not June.

There are several points that makes hating on our recruiting today not worth the effort.

1) Roster construction matters just as much as it ever did but It's 2027: Recruiting rankings matter less than ever, the transfer Portal makes it a far different thing. You miss on a group, you go get a several in the portal which may be the better option than signing a bunch of projects.

2) It's June and Lebby & Co has finished strong leading up to signing day both his first two years
  • 2026 State got two four stars in Dec last year and double digit guys after the season ended
  • 2025 State got about a dozen guys after the season ended
3) Win some games and recruiting will change. With every significant win State gets this year, more players will be willing to come here at market price and more people will be willing to fund that market price. Winning will attract money and players.

4) This is Lebby's 3rd year and the program is in far better shape than the day he took over. He brought in about 50 players each of the last two years, they may not bring in as many this year if they think they have some guys they want to keep.

I believe you on this but what are your thoughts on our current recruiting class?
I think we are still in the game with some guys that are committed elsewhere. I think we are very close like days aways from getting one of the better DL prospects in LA. I feel confident that we will close strong just as this staff has done the last few years. And lastly. While HS recruiting is important, the portal has superseded the overall importance of roster building.

If they don't get the wins, he won't be here long and any new coach will have to rebuild whatever is left no matter what.

Don’t bring facts to the negative goats 85 and Pats of the world. They can’t handle things that don’t fit the narrative
If he's 5'11" and as pathetic as you say he is, I ask you again, why did we take him? And don't say it wasn't a real offer, we offered him in January of 2025 and he committed in June of 2025......a year ago.

Now, the narrative you're trying to build is that Mason Miller came in here and cut him. So one way or another, somebody is looking pretty bad on this staff. More than anything, it highlights the lack of a recruiting plan.

No dumbass I’m saying he was offered probably by Cody Kennedy who was throwing out offers to everyone he could before he was replaced. His ofer came when the kid completed his soph in HS and the kid took it. We made staff changes you start looking and evaluating the recruits we ask..did we early project and have a steal or did we early project and kid os not going to grow or develop. The staff made the call. It’s not that big of deal. Good luck to the kid.

You have zero clue what you’re trying to post about. Again you sit on your couch at the REZ and have zero context of how things happen. Once again trying to be part of the problem and not the solution.

Phil Loadholt was hired December 2024. This guy was offered in June of the next year, and then visited in September. He didn't commit until January 2026.

Keep going.

Lee Ford was about that height and damn good. But .... we shall see where this kid lands. That will tell the tale.

But if our recruiting is really struggling. I don't understand cutting a kid until you have a solid replacement.

To be fair, I don't think any freshman is helping this OL this year, especially a developmental prospect.

if you're recruiting is suffering, you keep a project to attempt to develop him and have him for the scout team. ... is what I'm trying to say.

Oh I don't disagree. There are two types of raw MS players we should always be looking for:

- Obviously the measurable type guys who are playing out of position, i.e. they put the best athlete at QB type of deal;
- The undersized dawgs who just make everybody around them better.
