I'm guessing by "gaining momentum" is that this goofball has just seen Twitter chatter just like his increase in volume. What these morons don't apparently get is that they are all feeding off of each others' tweets - there are probably 8-12 of these "insiders" that just puke out vague "gaining momentum / slightly in the lead" garbage, then another posts the same thing in different words, then the snowball effect hits because they are all watching each other like hawks.
