UK fans love a-hole coaches. Let’s stop acting like we don’t. CMP is probably one of the least-fitting coaches personality wise we’ve ever had. Even BCG would’ve been loved if he was successful and not a drunk bum.

UK coaches gotta be able to politic the UK fanbase. If you can’t do that you end up with a restless crows.
Bingo

Again….he would have had to give half of everything he owned to his wife . Money isn’t the most important thing in everyone’s life . ESPECIALLY if they’re already rich .
Then give him enough to give her half and still have more than he ever imagined.

Hines is pretty damn good.
Agree. I've been a Hines fan since his senior year in high school. BUT. . . he's still pretty raw in many respects skill wise. Plus with that projected lineup listed by the OP you're putting a huge load on him to carry the team in regard to rebounding and interior defense. I think Hines would have been great for UK backing up Moreno and playing some old school bully ball PF.

The problem is I don’t think his antics would be accepted here. For starters him butting heads with that ref would have 100% cost him the game if he was our coach. If he gets the UK whistle, what’s his tourney record look like?
I would love for him to ruffle the feathers of other SEC coaches.

His wife is one of those weirdos who thinks New England is the best place in America, it was never gonna happen. Only way Hurley leaves is to one of the northeast NBA teams.

Like it or not, if Hurley stays, it’s not a matter of if but when they’ll eventually pass us in titles because we’re run by incompetent and corrupt d-bags who will gladly let UK fall into despair so they can fill their pockets with cash.
Same reason we lost Pitino.

Khamenia is not Karaban. Not close.
He actually was disappointing to watch at Duke. I mean I’m glad he wasnt great, but he also flopped a ton and pretty soft.
Hines averaged 6 and 5 at SH. Will be a big drop from Reed.
Backcourt is loaded but overall I don’t see them being nearly as good as this year.
Hope you’re correct as (like others have emoted) I can’t stand Hurley and/or UConn.

Umm …we hired Cal from Memphis, and like a full decade after he was fired by NJ.

So …what the hell are you talking about?
He clearly meant where they were from. I know you all ain’t this dumb. Even for your standards. Everybody knows he coached at Memphis. That’s not at all what that dumbass was talking about

Then you’re STILL wrong. Cal is not from New Jersey. The only time he ever lived in that state was his very brief stint as a failed NBA coach.

You cannot be this dumb. It’s impossible.
let me lay it to you so you and your boyfriend smeegs can understand this.

The buckwheat guy said this…

You need to know UK would never hire a douche. The UK board as well as the BBN would never accept such an arrogant Yankee as Hurley.

I replied with this. Clearly meaning the area he was from. Pennsylvania, Mass, Jersey all northeastern yankee states where he grew up and started his career. Also added that we hired Pitino. Literally a guy born in NY and coached in

We literally hired John Vincent Calipari from New Jersey. We hired Rick Pitino. What in the hell are you talking about.
Winning is all that matters.
Then you two asshats chime in with the “I ThOuGht hE cAmE fRoM mEmPhIs” like no **** Sherlock, even the dumbest Tennessee fans know that.

But then you both doubled down on the stupidity and let it ride. All because you couldn’t read at who I was quoting and wanted to get your little Memphis shot in.

Can’t fight the receipts. And still not a single argument as to why we shouldn’t have made Hurley unable to say no. He was the only option. I guess Mitch knew he needed to save money for his new salary. Case closed.

Good lord, dude, you appear to have some mental health issues that might need addressed.

All I did was respond to your claim that we hired Cal “from New Jersey”, by correctly pointing out that was false. NJ is not where he’s originally from, nor is it where he lived when we hired him. Your statement was indisputably wrong by either interpretation. Deal with it.

Just like I said. You can’t show me where I said anything about “Yankees “ because I didn’t. You even included the post where the guy said it . It wasn’t me . You are such a dumbass .

If I’ve said it once I’ll say it a million times.

we should have gave Hurley a blank check. Literally whatever he wanted for him to finally say okay, that’s too much money I have to take it.
Hurley would not get along with our boosters or our fans. He's actually not a great fit here.

It's very naive to think Hurley didn't know full well that we would give him a blank check. He didn't want to be here. Pretending there is something else we could have done won't change it. Much like Billy Donovan, how many times can we get rejected till we move on?

Well, there was one reason. The “Kentucky boys” faction of our fan base would’ve lost their friggin minds if Pope hadn’t made Jasper ….the first five star recruit from Lexington in nearly forever …the higher priority.
Agree 1,000%. Every time a UK coach didn't take a Kentucky kid and that kid did anything for another program, it was posted on this board again and again and the "Kentucky boys" faction would post repeatedly about the coach's failure to sign "one of our own."

I’m still baffled by that head butt. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad dook lost, and it’s even better that uconn didn’t end up winning the championship. But, what the hell was that? How can a coach get away with that…or even do it in the first place?
And we get a technical for a guy pointing to the camera and another for a guy sticking out his tongue after a made basket. Those who don’t believe we get the worst whistle in college basketball are in denial. I have no clue why, but we do.

If Mullins had played for Pope and JJ gone elsewhere everyone would be saying Pope should have taken JJ.

I’m still mixed in this. He’s clearly having success which we obviously want here. He’s also such an obnoxious dbag that would be hard to route for no matter what sideline he’s on.
I felt that way for a long time. But last year I noticed him slowly moving from d-bag to punk. Punk I’m fine with.

I’m completely fine with him being the most outrageous douchebag in the whole world if he were to come here and get us the wins he has got at UConn. I honestly don’t care if he brings Katina Powell in as an assistant coach if he came here.
Indiana sold their soul to keep Bob Knight who is one of the worst people in hell.
UConn will pay a toll for putting up with Hurley.
They should have lost in the FF last season when he head butted an official with .8 seconds left in the game.

No doubt. Evidence that BBN kinda bullied Pope to focus on JJ.

I’d bet money Pope deep down wanted Mullins but felt enormous pressure to sign Johnson.

This year’s roster is more suited with his type players. Good work by Brown

The dude turned down the Lakers to stay put. Ain’t no way he was leaving for us. Not for ANY amount we were reasonably capable of offering.
The Lakers gave Hurley a go-away offer. Jeanie had her moments where she was something along the lines of incompetent, but this wasn’t one of them. Hurley and his clan can spin it that he turned down the Lakers, but it was a go-away offer.

I don't think two blank checks would have hired Hurley to Lexington. He will go NBA or stay where he is for life. He has a great gig at UCONN with $$$$$, little to no pressure, and he and family loves the location.
