I personally think that he is the best PG Iowa's ever had. Very smart and under control handler/passer, great stepback moves, can drive or hit the 3 equally well. Pretty good on D. Sucks we couldn't have him another year.

It will be fun to see him get minutes in the NBA. I don't think he'll ever be a starter, but he is good enough to develop into a solid backup.

Oh, and friendly reminder to all, the officiating in the Big Ten last year was some of the worst I've ever seen. Iowa got tilted out of about 5 wins, totally fake 9 seed, and it showed come tourney time. Even when they finally lost, Illinois' PG got away without about 3 pushoffs and 2 travels, while Stirtz didn't need to get away with anything to be effective. He was the best PG on the court in that game, too.
Ronnie Lester, until he hurt his knee, was the best. Even Magic Johnson said so.

It's great to know that Bennett will learn NBA defense from a great defender like Alex Caruso and others. He's fundamentally sound playing for Ben, and he'll get much better at this level. Excited for him going forward as he learns from the best. The OKC fans are already embracing him.

Thunder traded Joe to pistons ...traded wiggins to heat. Clearing out some backcourt roster spots for Bennett and the Kentucky guard.

They are re-signing hardenstine.

Chet,Mara and hardenstine....21.5 feet of defenders for Wemby.

I guess I'm going to have to root for thunder now?
Nah...I root for the NBA hawkeyes but bulls are my team.

I'd say BJ Armstrong who won 3 rings with the Bulls and played 11 years in the NBA might say hold my beer. As would Ronnie Lester.

Younger fans who have no memory of Lester or Armstrong I can easily see where Stirtz would stand out as the best. I personally never saw a better college point guard than Ronnie Lester. That said Stirtz made his mark here in his one season and should have a solid NBA career ahead of him.

And Magic Johnson would agree.

Wow! We may see Bennett get an assist on a Josh Dix bucket during Summer League. ;)
They would have been a helluva back court this past season. Then again if Dix stays then maybe we don't see the emergence of Koch. It's very sad his mom got sick and passed away. I think Dix would be an ideal player for a coach like Ben. I certainly understand why he left though...

Interesting. Well, I guess they decided to keep him on the summer league roster, or maybe the roster wasn't updated. This is from 8PM tonight.

Ahhh. Just found this:
