Your mentioning that the Reflecting Pool holds 6.5 million gallons of water prompted me to consult my friend Google on the subject, because I have read accounts listing varying quantities (as much as 300 million gallons!). It looks like the 6.5 million gallon figure you noted is correct, with another 500,000 gallons apparently being contained in the underground pipes and filtration machinery that serve the Reflecting Pool.
I think you're referencing my post about how many gallons it took to refill it "annually" but I said 30 million, not 300. ;-)
