ATL is my favorite, maybe because I’ve mastered it?

Spent a night at DFW because of lightning in July eight years ago. It was the first time they've ever had to deal with lightning in summer in fuckintexas. They were flabbergasted.ATL is my favorite, maybe because I’ve mastered it?

Every time I have a connection through Dallas it’s a cluster. Fair point on EWR.Best: SIN
Worst: EWR
Contrary to your experience, I don’t mind DFW at all. Especially Terminal D.
Agree Changhi is incredible. I also like Hong Kong. Most Asian airports are pretty good - Istanbul, Dubai are top notch.Best: SIN

Almost had a mass casualty event there once. The customs area was absolutely packed like sardines…something about a slowdown/strike with the customs agents (it’s not a trip to France unless you experience some strike related disruption). It was hot, people were literally jammed against each other.Charles de Gaulle feels like a scene from a horror movie. Flickering lights and all signs in a foreign language, very disorienting and confusing.
Is taxing a WOB too or did you mean the taxes And not taxiing? Is Follow Travelers a WOB?
That said. F DFW the most. Outside of that the taxing at ORD is dumb. Everywhere else is manageable

I live in ATL so I've used it a hundred times and it's incredibly efficient so that would be my favorite. Newark was the worst I remember in the states but Charles de Gaulle is an absolute clusterfvkk with Schilpol in Amsterdam close behind.ATL is my favorite, maybe because I’ve mastered it?

Agreed and not only are you packed in like sardines, the guys in the Customs booths will just randomly disappear for 15 minutes, while the crush gets thicker. It starts to feel unsafe when you're waiting in line.Almost had a mass casualty event there once. On top of that they have those damn people mover conveyor belt things just shoveling more and more people into the crowded space. And you have to be on the people mover, there is no other option. People started panicking. Thankfully one guy near me figured out there was an emergency stop button and stopped the people movers. It was getting close to stampede territory. I was honestly worried kids would get trampled.
Absolute sh*tshow.
I hear you, brother.ATL is my favorite, maybe because I’ve mastered it?

No. Autocorrect on my phone. Is Follow Travelers a WOB?

Domestically …well they all pretty much suck compared to Asia. I actually don’t mind EWR that much for a US airport, the United club is decent there.
I'm wondering how long ago that was because they have as many or more restaurant options than any other big city airport I've ever been to. And when I flew out of the International terminal in May, it took me a total of 15 minutes to drop my bag, go through TSA and get to my gate. But I will say on the return, the walk from the concourse to Customs and then the baggage terminal is crazy long.I've been through Atlanta a number of times & never had a good experience. Most have been going or returning on international trips, and the terminal I've gone through had extremely limited options for food and beverage. IIRC the choices were McDonalds, ChicFilA (closed on Sunday), and a bar that had no food service...so McDonalds, and the line was about an hour long because it was the lone option.
I’ve seen the photos, but never flew to the old airport. Started going there in the 2000s and think the old one was closed by then.HKG is very nice for a former landfill site, but there was nothing cooler than flying into Kai Tak and looking out your window at some shirtless dude on his balcony looking directly at you while he’s smoking his cheap cigarettes.

If you were in the E terminal, you should have hit up One Flew South. Best airport restaurant I’ve had.I've been through Atlanta a number of times & never had a good experience. Edit: Boston svkked balls when I went through on my flight to Madrid back in May.
My issue with Charlotte is more American Airlines than Charlotte itself. If you’re in the backend of E and have to depart in A in 45 minutes, you’re running. No train for short layovers and 20 minute + walks. I do enjoy the rocking chairs.Like: CLT, MSP, Detroit
Dislike: JFK, O'Hare, ATL, any in Florida
Meh: San Diego, Denver
Why do so many people dislike CLT? I have never had an issue there and the remodel was decent.
I try to always fly direct when possible to avoid the airport hustle. I do agree the American just sucks in general. My issue with Charlotte is more American Airlines than Charlotte itself. Im one of the few people on the planet the like hub'ing through Ohare. Atlanta is a clown show.

Outstanding input. If I never see ORD again, it will be too soon. Since you’ve only been at it a couple years, you’ve got a while to earn my level of road warrior stripes. But if you stay the course for a couple decades, ORD will f*ck you. You will hate it.
I did a couple of years ago for the CWS and it was under construction, so maybe it’s getting better.Has anyone flown into/out of Omaha recently?
I had to for work a few times about 10 years ago. It felt like a gas station with airplanes.
Has it gotten any better?
I think there was only a popcorn stand open the last time I flew out of there and I was so effing hungry and work was still on the hook for feeding me and I was so pissed because who wants popcorn before a flight?I did a couple of years ago for the CWS and it was under construction, so maybe it’s getting better.
What did you think was bad about Schiphol? One of the cleanest airports I’ve ever been in you don’t have to take anything out of bags going through security and the train to Amsterdam Central is in the basement. Been there a handful of times and have never had an issue. Not judgmental just curious as to why you thought it was so badI live in ATL so I've used it a hundred times and it's incredibly efficient so that would be my favorite.
