Given Poch is rightfully sitting the 4 with yellows (Balogun, Richards, Jedi, Adams) and I don’t see Pulisic starting as Poch needs to see how physical/chippy the game is and if it is, Pulisic prob doesn’t play.

and Roldan is apparently day-day with an injury

and old man Real should rest!

so I think he goes with

GK: Freese
DF: Scally, Arfsten, McKenzie, Trusty
MF: Berhalter, Tillman, Reyna
Forwards: Pepi, Weah, Zendejas

second half subs:

Turner for Freese
M Robinson for Trusty
Aronson for Reyna or Tillman
Pulisic for Weah if game conditions merit
Wright for Pepi

Holy crap, Ecuador just went up 2-1 on the Germans, who have already won the group, while Ecuador has underperformed so far.

Germany played most of their starters against Ecuador even though the cliched their group.

They're the last 3rd place team a group winner wants to face. Talented, defensively very strong, they'll be hard to beat.

Ecuador, with 4 points and a GD of 0, is safely through to the knockouts. Bosnia, with 4 points but a GD of -1, is not yet through. The expected US-Bosnia matchup is not yet official.

This is a horrible result for bubble teams such as Scotland.

Third place team from Group F will likely be either Japan or Sweden as Netherlands is 2 up on Tunisia.

Max we can play is 7 as 4 with yellow won’t play per Poch

and you do know Germany has more talent on their bench than we have starting so their backups are big time players

Not a fair comparison

Yep- espn has it their bracket
Now.
Bosnia needed to finish ahead of four 3rd place teams. That is now assured. They will finish ahead of South Korea and Scotland. They will also finish ahead of the loser of Australia-Paraguay (or Paraguay if they draw) and ahead of whoever finishes third in Group I.

The reserves who are NOT starting tonight are Zendejas, Arfsten, Wright, and Brady. Also Pulisic is not starting. We may see all of them in the second half.

You just made the case for why Germany should have played their bench and the US it's starters minus those on yellows.

Alexi Lalas and Carli Lloyd each accentuating their attire with scarlet as part of their coverage of USA-Turkiye. Sure, there's a red, white and blue vibe. But, you can't tell me that the scarlet (not red) color splash it's also not also a nod to Rutgers.

Australia & Paraguay could be a brawler's delight the way both teams like to be physical. 2nd place on the line so things will be extra feisty in that game.

Up 1-0 already and it could easily be 2-0 - great blast by Trusty. These mostly subs look hungry, which is great.

Turkey finally scores after about 3000 shots this WC, lol. Defensive breakdown - no real chance for Turner on that one.

Spoke too soon, our center backs are showing why we need to hope younger guys develop quickly because Tim Ream will be using a walker in 2030.

Turkey now up 2-1 with another great goal, while we look confused on D and their energy is way higher than ours now. Turkey is a decent team that many thought would battle for the group.

You really think Turkey would look like this if we were playing the starting lineup? We have 11 guys out there with literally no chemistry and it shows. Tons of bad plays and missed opportunities.

Why would you assume I think that? Yes, we're not playing that well together, but Turkey does have something to do with it, as they played very well the last 30 minutes of the half. They have decent talent, but have been very unlucky so far in not scoring and our lapses on D opened it up for them to score.

You're dodging the question, they are playing our B lineup. Do you think they would look this good against our starters? It's a simple answer that you're unwilling to acknowledge.

Not dodging anything. I'm sure we'd be doing better with the starting 11 than we have been with the guys on the field - seems like a silly question, since the starters better be better than the subs.

Turkey was always going to be the side that gave us the most problems. Their lack of finishing in the first two was unprecedented, they are a solid squad. We just happen to be better.

Whole complexion of the game changed as soon as Pulisic came on. We may not have scored yet, but have been very close (and Aaronson missed what should've been a goal) and he's been slicing and dicing Turkey up. So much fun to watch.

Not really if you look where many of their shots came from. How often have you seen them go 1v1 in this game? Their lack of players that can do that has exposed them.

Losing a winnable game without changing our path forward might not be a terrible thing, as I think this team plays better with a chip on its shoulder and I'm not sure I would've wanted the team maybe being overconfident going into the knockout round.

Even though many of their shots were more from distance, they still had an expected goals of over 3.5 over those two matches. They doubled Australia xG.
I was worried every time Yilmaz got near a ball today. He was easily out running our two CB's.

Good effort tonight…no injuries of note (hope Trusty is ok if we need the depth at some point) and no suspensions. Early line gives us about a 78% implied chance of advancing on Wednesday.

I mean there are insanely hot women at every one of these matches. International soccer, hands-down, has by far the largest quantity and quality of women. You should have seen the Ecuadorian women walking around Hoboken earlier today and all the insanely hot women out at the bars in Hoboken and Jersey City for almost every single match.
It’s telling that’s what gets his dander up ain’t it lol

That’s right! I’ve been saying all along teams should play their bench. But Germany played many starters and lost which is a bigger confidence downer than losing with mostly your subs like we did .

True but Turkey also changed their lineup
