He will get his 5 million from Cody Campbell so he is handsomely rewarded in his prep year for 2027 draft.

No croc tears for sorsby.
As long as kessler doesn't demand most of his payout

He has a year to get on his path to sobriety.
If he stays clean, give him a shot next year.

To think, Texas Tech paid the kid millions to move to Lubbock (!) and live there for a few months.

So, I assume this means he can't be a FA? You have to go through a draft first?

This kid made a few mistakes. About 10,000 of them
Correct, you have to go through the draft and go undrafted to be declared a free agent. If you read the letter this is essentially Roger Goodell/NFL declaring himself judge, jury, and executioner and punishing him.

He’s up **** creek without a paddle. The choices are to sit out and prepare for the draft and get taken with a later pick, or he can risk it for the biscuit and play in the UFL or CFL, ball out and try and get picked up in the first round. Of course maybe he flops there, and if he does he is 100% not getting drafted. Will be interesting.

He has to risk it in the UFL or CFL. On ability, he's at best QB7 in next year's draft. The gambling and sitting out a year would move that considerably.

Based on the NFL's Supplemental Draft denial letter, it's all probably moot anyway. To get back in the good graces of the league, he needs to show a level of contrition for his transgressions that he hasn't shown himself capable of.

Dang. Was kind of hoping to see the supplemental draft happen and then watch Sorsby and his lawyer sue all 32 NFL teams for not drafting him.
