Kentucky has made an unconventional recruiting addition in the form of a quarterback transfer that should bolster the depth chart ahead of the 2026 season.
Callum Wither is transferring to Kentucky according to a report from Justin Dunk of 3DownNation, and KSR+ sources have confirmed the news. Withers will be on scholarship in Lexington.
Wither is a 23-year old who committed to play for Ohio several seasons ago. He did not see the field and transferred to Wilfrid University in Ontario, where he passed for nearly 2,500 yards and 26 scores while completing 73% of his throws.

He was the top-ranked QB in Canada. Of course, I'm not sure that means much.
This probably signals that the staff expects Ponatoski to stick with baseball.

The Waterloo, Ont. native led U Sports with 26 passing touchdowns in his first season compared to only four interceptions, while completing 72.7 percent of his passes for 2,472 yards. He was named a first-team All-Canadian following the 2025 campaign. The six-foot-four, 215-pound QB attended prep school at Football North in Mississauga, Ont. Over 10 starts in his senior high school season, he threw for 2,140 yards with 15 touchdowns against six interceptions, and rushed for 500 yards plus six touchdowns against all American opponents. His performance helped him become the top-ranked Canadian quarterback in the 2022 recruiting class, committing to Ohio University.

On paper, looks like a solid backup plan for something Stein had to draw out of a hat.
That sucks. At least we have a legit QB now, if Stoops was here that would be a death knell to the season.
Stoops would have recruited a tenth DB before he would add a capable backup QB
That guy never learned. At least Pope seems to have learned his lesson and has multiple point guards on this years roster. Stoops was totally clueless on offense.
What made his cluelessness even more clueless was the fact he'd hire a new OC, then limit his play calling, all while being clueless about offense
