IL reporting UVM A Matt Fratteroli to Rutgers. 1 year left. Started all last year.
5-11, 185 attackman from Ontario, Canada who played at Vermont, scored at least one goal in all 14 of their games this year and led them in goals with 31.

Had 31 goals and only 4 assists, so guessing he’s more of a sniper than a facilitator.

100%. Slick stick Canadian, which we've been missing. Different body type than AC, but has those sweet hands and stroke. Pure scorer. He can go 1 v 1 too though. Snippet but gives you an idea. Our offense is going to look very different next season. Scott now has more pieces to implement his offense. Really want another of Frattaroli's team mates. Guy is a day 1 starter for someone.

Vermont is losing a lot of talent. I wonder if it's a coaching issue. UVM used to be a decent place to go to college.

I think their coach just went to Virginia as the DC. Got to give that guy credit, he's recruited a lot of talent to Vermont that a school like that frankly doesn't normally get. Pretty sure that when he left, all those guys jumped in the portal. Last guy we are after would be a huge w if we can close.

Wait, are you saying we GOT another VT kid? If so, is it the FOGO Walter Zhao, who is from NJ (and who was 185-280 for 66% this past year)?

from what i've seen on fanlax, apparently a VT kid Jack Combs, LSM, is coming to RU.

this is the list they have:
Rutgers: Nick Crowley (LSM, Princeton), Tatum Lewis (SSDM, Vermont), Ezra Moore (A, Bellarmine), Cade Faulkner (M, Utah), Max Frattaroli (A, Vermont), Charlie Hunnewell (M, LIU), Jack Combs (D, Vermont)

IL is showing we got Jack Combs, D from VT and Charlie Hunnewell, M from LIU.

Combs is a 3-time all American East first teamer, twice at LSM and once at D.

Hunnewell had 14 goals and 12 assists last year, finishing 5th on LIU

Zhou went to JHu, which was a bit of a surprise considering what he was saying about them when on campus at Rutgers.

Tatum Lewis, Jack Combs, and Frattaroli are the Vt guys we landed. Expect to see all play immediately.

This is a great class, it feels like there are more kids from established programs than in the past.
Best classes are Rutgers, JHU, OSU and Michigan. Maryland brought in some decent players. PSU didn’t get anything. They lost out on a couple of guys they wanted.

Acc’s didn’t do much which was a bit surprising. Sarah struck out on a number a number of guys. Rutgers alone landed a few of them.

The biggest get of the offseason was keeping Beida. Virginia tried to hire him as their OC. Credit Keli and alums, along with Scott himself for warding them off.

Phelan will help Duke on D. Admission to the MBA program at Fuqua is certainly attractive to grad transfers. But the transfer numbers, as you said for the ACC, are low.

Latest pick up is interesting. Charlie Hunnewell, Jersey kid from Barnards who was at LIU for 2 years. Looks like a swiss army knife utility type. Can play DMID and adds some offense. He's on the smaller side but he's clearly got speed and is quick twitch. Going to be interesting to see how he's used. He will help in the clearing game. In a world of specialty, you can never have enough of these guys.

I think we are done in the portal now, unless there is some incredible late entry. Great effort by the staff. I'd give it a solid A. If it's not the best portal class, it's up there. Only thing we missed on was a fogo, which we all but had committed. Apparently Johns Hopkins dropped the bag on Zhou who indicated he was coming to RU. Shows you how you can purchase players now. He didn't even want to go on the visit from some communications from him that I've seen passing around an alum chain. Even told players he was coming.

Can't win em all though. Hats off to the staff for their tireless work and results. Along with Keli and the alums.

They've been recruiting well from the HS ranks so it stands to reason they would sit more idle. Ebbs and flows. You want to develop players, but there is no substitute for older, proven talent. Getting the right fits for culture and style are then paramount, but the guys who have been through the wars, even in smaller conferences, are very attractive to any coach. Big difference between 18-19 and 22-23. The more of the latter you have who have proven success, the higher likelihood you will have of winning. No guarantee in sports, but the motto get old stay old is real.

Hunnewell had 14 goals and 12 assists - would think he's a pure offensive middie, no?

That stings re: Zhao. Kid was 66% on FOs this past season. @!#$%$##@@! Maryland!

I don't. I think he's going to get offensive reps via the clearing game, but he can also play D. He will be used in a different way than just offense.
