Yikes. Didn’t notice that. I’m thinking this is a depth signing & not a projected starter. I guess we’ll see.

We don’t need “outfield depth” we need pitching
Our pitching staff especially starters were young, they will be much improved next year. You can't get enough talent regardless of position!
BOC will be good for us in the coming years; relax it was only year one for him. Btw, BOC didn't throw a single pitch, players have to make plays!

I’d still like to see us get 2 or 3 pitchers, a legit starter and closers.
I do not think you will get an elite starter to come here with our starting rotation close to set if not already set at least to start. I wouldn't, they want to start and this rotation hasa at least 4 guys already vying for the 3 weekend spots.

With Bauer, Gleason and Miller you have a few that I know about and there may be other young pitchers that make some advancements but all 3 of those should improve and take on bigger roles. The 3 transfers we got now, one may be a closer type role and the other two be more line Burns and Davis.

I would like to see at least one more lefty and the best reliever types you can find to give us a bigger pool from which to pull.

You know, for an OM Troll, you say the word “We” more than any other SOB on this board. Might be the giveaway.
Waaaaaa all you do is cry like a baby. You can be a state fan without getting booty hurt if someone doesn’t say something super positive. What a big baby some of our fans are. But. But, you a twolllll. What a child you are.

White had a strikeout rate of 20.1%. and we averaged 20.2% as a team in 2026. Using your metric of hits to strikeouts White had 1.28 hits to Ks and our team's ratio was 1.31. He is hardly a strikeout machine.
Whoa...slow down there boss. We only use emotion for arguments on this board. No logic or statistics are allowed.

Yup. We aren't an obvious landing spot for pitchers unless you're a good closer, in which case you probably can walk into that job on MSU's roster as much as you can anywhere else. At least at top tier teams, everyone is going to at least have some young but unproven pitchers that could make a jump, so that is one spot that is basically wide open for a transfer.

None of our transfer pitchers just looking at stats look like sure things for a lot of innings next year. They just look like more options to pair with some of our returning pitchers. Our bull pen should be better just because we will have a few more options, but we still need a few pitchers outside of our starters, whether transfers or returning pitchers, to be better than they were last year for the bullpen to not be a problem again.

None are ranked higher than Charlie foster, which tells you a lot. None of the “Portal pitching” is any good, dumbass.
Who cares where Charlie Foster is ranked? Geez, the guy was demoted from weekend starter to mid week starter to bullpen to not even pitching in post season. If OM gets something out of him, good for them, but it was obvious he wasn't going to pitch for us and needed a change of scenery to try and reset.

Just out of curiosity, what ranking are you speaking of? Do you mean his draft projection?
ESPN has Foster ranked 22 with four other pitchers ahead of him. Our top pitcher transfer is ranked 24. BOC should have ignored the 24 ranked pitcher and only recruited the four pitchers that ESPN ranked ahead of Foster

Or maybe O,Connor knows better than ESPN how good these pitchers are. And with Foster I don’t think it’s that we ran him off so much as he wants to be a weekend starter & that simply wasn’t going to happen here.

Dammmmm, you actually did a post without using the word “WE” …. But, you did use the phrase Booty Hurt; to me, that just has LandRebelBlackBearShark smeared all over it. Btw, is it only baseball threads, minus your candy bar (Post/Thing) that you show up for? Asking for the Board!
