Does Soto have the same purported problem as Pete, Angry Squirrel and Nimmo. Keep seeing that about the latter 3, which is ridiculous if true. Players are on the same team trying to win games, and it should end there. How serious is Soto's injury or was that an excuse to avoid being around Lindor? Hmmmm!!!![]()

Make sure to paint it orange and blueWe’ve had grimace, and Hawk tuah.
Maybe these crazy Norwegians in CF are the good luck charm we need to turn things around! Sweep the DH today and I’m getting a Viking helmet!
Is it necessary to make such idiotic posts? We know he pitched a lousy game!!!mc L ean

Fire everyone. And if Mendoza had pulled McLean, and the reliever had given up the three run bomb, this joker would be ripping Mendoza a new one for THAT.
TBH firing Mendoza now is kind of irrelevant, since there is 0% chance he will be back next year. I will be fine with his firing though. I really don't think much of this year's debacle is his fault. But if the team fails, the manager pays the price. Mendoza knows that's how it works. He got the job because his predecessor didn't get it done. He will meet the same fate.Fire everyone.![]()
I really want a public beat down for Stearns. Make him walk the plank. That will make up for some of the BS he tried to force on the fans.TBH firing Mendoza now is kind of irrelevant, since there is 0% chance he will be back next year. Not happening this year. Not happening next year either, at least not in-season. If 2027 is a failure, then and only then does his seat get hot IMO.I really want a public beat down for Stearns. Make him walk the plank. That will make up for some of the BS he tried to force on the fans.
The only reason I can tolerate the bullsh+t is because the Knicks one. I'm still on a Knicks high. Not happening this year. Not happening next year either, at least not in-season. If 2027 is a failure, then and only then does his seat get hot IMO.
There was a fair amount of chatter that they were at odds on politics--no need to make this thread political. Saw that from various sources including Francessa and a story on MSN. As I mentioned, if true, that's really dumb on Lindor's part. What purported problem is that, and who is doing the purporting?
You use to be able to have different political opinions and it not consume your everyday life. Hell, most people didn't disclose their political choice publicly. You went about your business until election time. You vote and go back to living. There was a fair amount of chatter that they were at odds on politics--no need to make this thread political. Another issue Stearns/Cohen are causing- fire Mendoza and what Manager would want to come to this organization. I almost feel that if they asked Beltran at this point- he would turn them downTBH firing Mendoza now is kind of irrelevant, since there is 0% chance he will be back next year. Not just the manager. You can’t tell me that the pitching staff got this much worse in a year after last year’s coach left. Don’t get me started on the hitting coachAnother issue Stearns/Cohen are causing- fire Mendoza and what Manager would want to come to this organization. And the 1B coach-half the stolen bases. BTW, pitching has been great the last 4 games. Not just the manager. You can’t tell me that the pitching staff got this much worse in a year after last year’s coach left. Don’t get me started on the hitting coach
I wasn’t a big fan of the pitching coach but it has gotten worse. The hitting coach- is it really his fault? Last year, we had one of the best offenses. This year, the hitting is down because our 2nd best all around hitter has been injured and the 3rd and 4th best hitters are elsewhere. Ewing and Benge look solid but not great, Alvarez may be coming back fairly well. Bichette will end up decent. But the lack of improvement with Baty and Vientos is concerning. But if this team had Lindor, Soto, Alonso, Nimmo and the 2 rookies, the offense would be good. Not just the manager. You can’t tell me that the pitching staff got this much worse in a year after last year’s coach left. Don’t get me started on the hitting coach
I will not try to tell you that the pitching staff got that much worse, because it didn't. The stats are comparable to last year. The 2026 Mets have pitched OK, but have not hit at all. This week has been an outlier. We'll see if it continues. Not just the manager. You can’t tell me that the pitching staff got this much worse in a year after last year’s coach left. Give McLean some credit. He is the ideal teammate. He sees that the other starting pitchers are giving up a run per inning, and he joins them in solidarity.Great time to again bring up my Nolan McLean sucks take.
Desperate team hands him a 3-0 lead. Middle of a losing streak. And he gives up 6. Just not an Ace at all.
40 runs in 4 games. Senga and Peterson shells of themselves , yes worse.I will not try to tell you that the pitching staff got that much worse, because it didn't. BTW, if you REALLY didn't want us to get you started on the hitting coach, you wouldn't have planted the idea in our heads.![]()
If they fired Mendoza now, they would likely appoint bench coach Kai Correa as interim manager. At season end, then don't even have to fire Mendoza, just decline his option and let him walk, owing him $0.Another issue Stearns/Cohen are causing- fire Mendoza and what Manager would want to come to this organization. I almost feel that if they asked Beltran at this point- he would turn them down
Recency bias. By that logic, Francisco Alvarez is an all star.40 runs in 4 games. Senga and Peterson shells of themselves , yes worse.
Stop I gave you 4 games could give you plenty more. Huge leap comparing Alvarez to an All Star. In that 4 game stretch how many pitchers sh*t the bed? Numerous position players can look good for a short stretch far from making them an all star. Senga may have started his last game. As bad as he was in the second half no one was saying he was done, just needed to work his way back healthy. Peralta was suppose to be the anchor of this team. Can he not pitch under the lights in NY? Is it the pitching coach? Name any starting pitcher that has gotten better this year? Scott looks good but did not play last year. Is the pitching coach making a difference. I mean maybe?Recency bias. By that logic, Francisco Alvarez is an all star.
I would add that for the second half of 2025, Senga and Peterson were no better than they are now.
so- Stearns pitching staff last year was worst than his horrible pitching staff this year...lolI will not try to tell you that the pitching staff got that much worse, because it didn't.
