Wonder if Yaxel feels slighted by May going behind Morez. Yaxel is the better player imo, and by a decent margin.

Interested to see what the trade details are. OKC is obviously a good spot.
I was also curious -this is AI generated so take with a grain of salt:

The Deal Breakdown
  • To Oklahoma City Thunder: Bennett Stirtz (No. 16 Pick)
  • To Memphis Grizzlies: No. 17 Pick and two second-round draft picks
  • Contract Details: Stirtz is set to sign a four-year rookie scale contract worth an estimated $22.8 million

Then OKC selects another G???

Nope.... They traded that spot with Detroit.

Kinda silly that half these guys have the wrong hat on.... But whatever.

Doesn't the NFL do this differently....where they actually show the swapped pick and trade details?

Was hoping for him and Iowa to get that coveted ‘Lottery Pick’ tag, but a great accomplishment nonetheless! Sucks that his time was a cut a little by the Duke/NC guys…but one of them did give Bennet props…Boozer maybe?

Boozer was Giddy and excited about Stirtz joining him at Memphis, but they broke in and said the pick was swapped with OKC.

I like this description:

Post-Draft Analysis

"ESPN's Shams Charania reports this pick is on the move and Stirtz has been traded to Oklahoma City in a swap that sent two second-round picks to Memphis for the opportunity to move up one spot. It appears the Thunder will roster both of their first-round picks and solve their roster crunch another way. Stirtz was likely to come off the board in this range and turned out to be a target for the Thunder, who were presumably worried about Memphis picking him and willing to pay to ensure they got him. He is a rotation-ready playmaker who gives OKC additional shooting and playmaking off the bench." -- Woo

I personally think that he is the best PG Iowa's ever had. Very smart and under control handler/passer, great stepback moves, can drive or hit the 3 equally well. Pretty good on D. Sucks we couldn't have him another year.

It will be fun to see him get minutes in the NBA. I don't think he'll ever be a starter, but he is good enough to develop into a solid backup.

Oh, and friendly reminder to all, the officiating in the Big Ten last year was some of the worst I've ever seen. Iowa got tilted out of about 5 wins, totally fake 9 seed, and it showed come tourney time. Even when they finally lost, Illinois' PG got away without about 3 pushoffs and 2 travels, while Stirtz didn't need to get away with anything to be effective. He was the best PG on the court in that game, too.
