Must be an AEW PPV week.

Didn't Vince give everyone a huge pay raise back in 2019 so they wouldn't go to AEW?

And isn't WWE a billion dollar company?

Heyman is one of my favorite people of all time but he may not be the one to talk about how much wrestlers are getting paid.

Here's a little reminder for everyone when it comes to WWE. They are a publicly traded company. Their goal isn't to see how many Meltzer endorsed 5-star matches they can put on their shows or to pit the greatest tag teams in the world against one another.

WWE/TKO's primary goal is to make money and turn a profit for their stockholders, which at times is going to result in a boring product for viewers. And without a strong, viable competitor forcing WWE to up their game, nothing will change.

BTW, if you bought $10,000 worth of WWE stock back in 1999, it would be worth $118,376 today.

Hard to take the pillars talk seriously when the first four named were MJF, Darby, Sammy. and Jack Perry. Granted, the current four named look way more promising but still, dude said the future of AEW would include Guevara and Jungleboy a few years ago. That'd be like saying Oba, Trick, Berto, and Pete Dunn are WWE's pillars.

Have to admire the cunningness of the fact that WWE knows a significant portion of their fan base are stupid marks and will exploit them in any way possible.

Don't love it but people gotta be realistic. Casuals love Jey and he's a reaction machine. He's an upper card guy and is treated as such. Fans online have talked up Eddie Kingston in recent years as if he's a can't miss special talent. He looks like trash and is sloppy in-ring but he's got a connection with fans. Jey's in-ring is sloppy and he ain't exactly Flair on the mic but he's got a connection with fans. Those connections go a long way.

Oba will be fine either way. He's already a megastar. Option one he beats Jey, Brock, and Reigns and holds the world title. And then what? He's already not selling much. In 2K gaming terms, if Roman is at a 98, Oba would be like 114 at that point. Option two would be the traditional WWE route. Rumble and Mania win next year.

The weekly shows aren't great but I really can't predict how Summerslam and the fall will shake out so that's at least one positive.

I suppose Brock will do a run in and the third match between them will happen at summerslam.

Yup. Predictable but it's been telegraphed for weeks. Maybe they really would give Oba Brock night one and Roman night two but then it feels like Raw and SS would be the Oba show and traditionally it's just not something WWE does that quickly.

Zack Sabre's style is pretty boring to me, but I have to admit, that submission he put Jungle Boy in last night looked like it hurt like a sumbitch.

ZSJ's style is an acquired taste. It's very old school British, a style which never really made its way to the US in any prominent fashion.
