My guess is he's done and wouldn't come back regardless
Levi is 21 years old, married, on the Senior National team --- what does $500,00 sound like? (Unfortunately the lawsuit probably won't settle in time)

Robideau, Vega and Jax should all be able to get 5 years as well.
This will be fun because Duke, blaze and Liledahl do as well as Davis I believe. Davis might cash in on that, and I wouldn't blame him one bit. Seidel is another. Valencia? Or was he a redshirt? Also, what does Bo Bassett get? 4?

American freestyle and folkstyle wrestler Bo Bassett was born on August 25, 2006.

He will be 20 starting his fall. Did his clock start at 19 last year? So he gets only 4 more years? Good question.

Valencia not eligible for the extra year. Took a greyshirt and is currently 21 (DOB 5/16/2005)

Bo would get all 5 because this Fall is the year following his 19th birthday

5 years for bassett.

Clock starts when you enroll or the fall FOLLOWING your 19th birthday. He turned 19 on August 25, so he should be fine, as the first day of classes for VTech is August 24.

Cutting is as close as possible though. lol

Could these new rules also mean that Ono would have another year? Can someone do an evaluation of our overall roster and recruits and how many years each of them would have left? Unfortunately, I don't have all the information or time to do that.

Masa born on February 10, 2004. Fall following his 19th birthday would be 2023-2024 season.

So yes, under age based eligibility, he gets 2 years.

Jayden could greyshirt, he's only 17.

Raney's are both 19 presently and could not grey shirt.
Jayden could but he's ready regardless of his age. That year wouldn't benefit him much if at all. He will be at Penn st this year

If he can't beat Kasak, Mesenbrink or Duke he won't have a weight class... take part-time classes and make the call second semester. (So many options) :ROFLMAO:

Or maybe I confirmed he's enrolling 🤷
Sure but the question lingers not just is James ready (he is) but who does he push out? The whole Duke, Kasak, Mitchell, Henckel, Sealy, Cuningham already complex weight class musical chairs situation gets even worse. Things are certainly looking not great for the last three, maybe add Kasak into that for group with his concussion questions. This could be the year where we see several portals, with 5 for 5 not helping one bit.

Despite his other worldly prowess for a 17 year old, in my view, unless James goes 174 he might not win a spot this season. I question if he can go 157, and at least for this year my money is still on Duke or Mitchell at 165 over James. On the surface 157 looks like the most 'harmonious' slot.

A grey shirt if available makes total sense team wise. Will James consider it, or reconsider it now in the face of 5 for 5? If it means sitting for a year, maybe.

I wouldn't be shocked if James, Kasak and Duke are each long shots for 157 sure to the cut.

Noone better than Cael to deal with this, and might he wispier Grey shirt in JJ's ear, or at least readdress the possibility?

I think so. He still gets 5 after a grey shirt!

If I were a betting man, and I am not, I would lean

157 - James
165 - Duke
174 - Mitchell

I don't like it, and 5 for 5 drives Duke out of redshirt as well, but what can you do. Pushing Duke to 174 doesn't sound great to me either.

Henckle, Sealy, and maybe even Kasak are portal risks.

PS - Levi wants a 5th year now ;-)

I am waiting for school to start their academic really early now. The fall term will start in January or some bs way to bend the rules. 🤣

If you've a Sept or Oct birthday and graduate at 17 you could do 2 gap years. I have a feeling in the future December and January will be busy months in bedroom

Walking around in the low 160s, 157 is doable.
That's probably his best shot at making the line up as well. If I had to guess right now I would say he goes 157. He hasn't really cut much since his freshman year in HS when he cut to 106. His dad did a great job with him and always looked at the big picture

As great at Jayden Jame is, the disrespect for Kasack is so odd to me. Kid took third twice. Probably would have been the favorite to win this year if he didn’t redshirt. I get the concussion issues…but a healthy Kasak is a tough out for anyone.

I said his best shot. Not sure how you took that as me disrespecting Kasak. I didn't say 165 or 174 because of Mesenbrink and Duke🤷. What's his best shot 157 165 174?

I'm confused, because last fall would have been after he turned 19...
It seems twins could be the same age and if 1 chooses a college with a different academic year start date they could have different eligibility. Doesn't sound kosher to me.
Edit. AI says this.
Both brothers enroll in August.birth date 8/20. One college starts on 8/18 the other on 8/21

No, the three-day difference in college start dates will not give the twin brothers different lengths of athletic eligibility. Under the NCAA’s newly finalized "5-for-5" model, eligibility timelines are calculated by academic years, meaning both brothers will share the exact same five-year window regardless of which school starts classes a few days earlier. [1, 2, 3]

1. The Clock Trigger is the Academic Year
The NCAA measures the five-year "5-for-5" eligibility period based on the overall academic year of initial full-time enrollment (the 2026–27 academic year), not the precise calendar day classes commence. Starting on August 18 versus August 21 places both brothers in the exact same fall term window. [1, 2]

Nah. Would have already been a problem. Mormon church plays no games with missions. You're going away and you're doing the work.

And most churches would be loathe to do something like that, as it could jeopardize their tax-exempt status.

Plus - why do that when you can still do a prep year?
What is a religion? Is there an official body that validates the legitimacy of a religion. Sure … the Mormon church is legit and they have strict rules. On the other hand; The Church of What’s Happening Now is equally legit and my guess is that they will be more than willing to offer “flexible missions” for the correct donation to their religious leadership.

Would have already been done if it were that easy.

It's the NCAA, they're the best at bureaucracy. So it's clear they have some decent guidelines when it comes to this particular subject.

According to what or who though? I'm not arguing I just keep hearing that but I've yet to see an official date that is used as the "beginning of a collegiate academic year".

Starting the academic year following your 19th birthday. Bo was 19 on 25 2025 and the academic year had already started. So he's enrolling now which is the academic year following his 19th birthday. The NCAA academic year runs from Aug 1 to July 31
