Probably leave a lot of empty seats as well.
It won't be because of digital tickets. Very few people live without a phone anymore. If you have a phone, it is usually easy to set up. If you struggle with that type of stuff, just ask one of your teenage relatives to get you set up. After picking at you and calling you old, they will get you all set up.

Digital ticket fiasco at a Greenville concert recently left those with 3rd party tickets revolting because their digital tickets would not scan without error and they were denied entry, so there can be issues/glitches.

No one who can't afford a mobile phone will be buying tickets anyhow.

This. But you can use something like stubhub up to and in the line to get in.
Yes, but prices on Stubhub and other secondary markets are generally MUCH higher than what a ticket can be bought from a scalper. I've gotten into many games for $10 buying from a scalper. That will never happen with Stubhub.

Well, the ticket price may drop near $10 around the start of the game. The fees will still be another $20.

First thought when I read this is of a good friend of mine I grew up with that was featured on a ticket back in the early 80s. Only one of maybe two other kids I can point to in every class picture with me from kindergarten to 12th grade. That ticket picture (illustration) was the last I had of him as he passed away almost immediately after graduating USC. Anyway, knew this day would come, still gotta shake my head a little.

Those who can't afford a mobile phone will likely steal one.
No one has to do that either. Just get a phone phone through the Lifeline Assistance Program if you are that hard up. There really is no such thing as not being able to afford a mobile phone.

Digital ticketing will put scalpers out of business.
I haven't been to a game in a long time, but the last few I went to were spur of the moment decisions and I got a ticket from a scalper outside the stadium. A few times when I lived in Chattanooga, I would get off work on a Saturday morning, drive to Columbia, get a ticket from a scalper, take in the game and then drive back. The things you can do when you're young.

The scalpers provided an essential service for me since this was long before any digital/online options.

Cash is king. What happens when you’re supposed digital scan doesn’t work when you arrive. I guess…just screwed eh?
