I’m not sure about that. Overall I think coaching is way better in the SEC so by default Cal wouldn’t lose as many games in the B10 due to being out coached.
Since the numbers are not public we will never know about NIL expenditures, but Michigan has way more money in general than Arkansas. Articles I've read since UM won the title also put them right at at the top of NIL spenders. I'm guessing those articles are conjecture, though.

UK should have worked out a deal with Tubby in 2001 to get Pitino back here. I know the argument is that Tubby won the '98 title, but even at his zenith, there was no question Pitino was better my a mountain mile.

Whatever Arkansas is offering, Michigan can offer more.
I actually think Cal at Michigan would work. What he needs to do is yet the right assistants around him. But hes a marketer, hed be able to do a lot with Michigan's money. Which I guess most coaches can do.
But players still want to play for him, we see it even at Arkansas. So give him Michigan money to throw around and he could put some nice teams together. Coaching them to a F4 is another hurdle. But again, he did it 4 times here lol.
That seems abitrary and unfair, to me at least. Should not matter, the coach they agreed to play for has left, doesn't matter if the new coach is from the old staff. I mean, who would want to play for Mark Fox if Pope left and Mitch had promoted Fox as IHC?

The thought is they will announce he's coaching them the entire year in the next week or two but I guarantee you they are putting out feelers behind the scenes to coaches they have on their dream list
Probably all just wishful thinking but it would be hard to ask for a better package deal than Cal leaving the SEC, punking Arky, and bringing UM down a few pegs all as icing on the cake after we snagged an AD from the other Michigan.
