I had a feeling things might go south after two innings of the ESPN booth fellating Oklahoma’s freshman pitcher with 1 college win.

3-2 NC in T3. Bases loaded 1 out.

Great job by him. Got two Ks to get out of it. Over 50 pitches thrown in the 3rd.

I did a little research. These ‘hot run’ teams of the modern era to actually pull off a title were 2022 Ole Miss, 2016 Coastal, 2015 Virginia and then 2008 Fresno. I believe 2007 Oregon State was too.

By hot run I mean teams that didn’t host ie were not top 16.

Virginia, Fresno and OSU were the only ones to beat a bonafide host team in the finals. And 2 of those were in the hot bat era. Then if you consider Virginia was absolutely a talented team that had just underachieved (same for OM), the likelihood of the hot team winning it is not high. Really Oregon State was too, I mean they and Virginia had just played in the title series the previous year.

So perhaps OU has run up against more than just a hot team can handle. Or, they are actually a great team but just so happened to play in a great conference. But if they do win, they are the closest thing to a freak run since since Coastal, who had some luck with Arizona also being a freak run team.

2016 Super is 1B to the 1A 2018 womens national championship as far as Mississippi State heartbreak. 2 national championships right there

Yeah I think if we handle Zona we probably do win that title.

And shlt if we just win game 2, we had Houston ready to go, who was rolling. Such a choke.

The OU offense disappeared the last several innings. Will they stay in that rut or will they hit the ball tomorrow and find their offense? I think NC is going to win it.

The pitcher they were facing had a lot to do with that offensive disappearance. I think the stat was they’re 29-0 in games he pitches in.
