It actually looks just like an older pair of Nikes I have (without the raised "C's" of course......

It will be interesting to see how Nike performs financially after the Cailtin products are finally available for sale.

However, will they produce enough to meet demand?

In this discussion, they argue that Nike should have had the Caitlin shoe out 3 years ago.

Why the 3 year delay?

That's what's so special about athletics. Dreams realized after all of the devotion, sacrifice, and effort by not just by her, but by her parents as well.
True, but I'm sure they never imagined the flip side either of how her whole life would be laid bare exposing both the good and bad. The constant backlash has to be mentally draining for her. Obviously she's become generationally wealthy, but there's been a price to pay as well.

Yeah, with success and wealth, comes scrutiny.

That's an interesting question. All of the Kobe knockoffs they've made for her were. You would think lots of guys would buy them also. She did mention something at one point about Nike putting a lot of tech into the shoes to be the first shoe actually designed for a women's foot. I'd bet their still unisex though. Too many lost sales otherwise.

Did Adam Silver step in?

The bad part about all of this is all the blow back from the old guard and their followers will come straight back to CC22 even though she's not making these comments and has even refuted some of the crazier stuff publicly. While its nice to see some comments from other athletes, the politicals should stay the heck out of this. That have plenty to concern themselves with.

Agree. Send in the National Guard instead. ;)

In a perfect world I do think she could be a little more outspoken at times, but unless she personally and specifically replies to each and every Tweet, DM, email, smoke signal, and interaction that is perceived as negative by her critics it will never be enough for some, so it doesn't make sense for her to start chasing that tail.

Be interesting to see how much Wilsons made off the sale of all these balls

And imagine if they didn't sell out immediately?

You'd think by now they'd know what demand would be and produce enough

Just spit balling:
they are $45 retail; do you think Wilson sells them to retailers for around $20? And then the cost to make would be a fraction of that $20....

Hard to say on sporting goods. I was in the perishable food industry and the standard mark up at a grocery or even Walmart was 25-28%. So that would be around $12 profit for the store on a $45 sale, or the vendor making $33, (before all their costs obviously). Its probably higher than that though on sporting goods.

Have you heard of Jimmy Wrigg? He's exposed Wal-Mart for even getting a whole lot more profit by selling underweight meats. It's widerspread than just Wal-Mart, unfortunately.
