Only thing is that this is not about awareness. This is forcing someone to do something they don’t want to be or believe in.
This was something of a big deal in the NHL a year or two ago -- many teams have 'pride nights,' and they'd often have the teams wear pride jerseys for pregame warmups, and then auction them off for cause related charities. (ooooooh....smelly men's hockey jerseys....) In any even, there were some orthodox russian guys that basically didn't take warmups. It probably would have ended at that, but somebody called them out for it, and NHL's solution was essentially to say, 'you can have pride nights, but no more pride jerseys'.Let’s hope more teams start to do this.
