Pretend you have a close friend. You guys have been friends for a long time. You go to parties together and are constantly in the same social circles.

Now lets say that friend of yours has another group of friends he hangs out with. You've never personally hung out with them, but you see your friend with them all the time. They've taken pictures together, your friend has talked about them in public speeches, etc.

One day, news breaks that your friend's other group of friends get busted for sleeping around with underage women. Your friend never got caught doing anything wrong, but he was around them enough that it raises suspicion, but nothing is ever proven and he denies having sex with women who are underage.

Would you still be friends with them?

"Them"? Is he trans?

The first question I'd ask is how old the women are and whether they are voluntarily on the party circuit doing what they want. Although I've been disowned for saying so, I see a big difference between actual children being trafficked vs 17-year-old young women out for a good time.

Since he's your friend, I assume you take his word that he wasn't involved. So this becomes a question of what he should have known and what he did about it.

You are the company you keep. The friend is either completely obtuse or in on it. Neither are a good quality.

Life is too short to hang out with scumbags or morons.

Your use of the terms "trafficked" and "out for a good time" suggests two completely different scenarios, but the age of consent (18 in most places) is a pretty bright line, and for good reason. Moreover, government spying is endemic these days, Under those circumstances, I think you should keep anything about 17 year-olds on the down low.

No.

But I would never be friends with Donald Trump regardless.

Because they are 2 completely different scenarios. When we replace intelligent assessment with an arbitrary line, we are going the wrong direction.

No. I'm guessing that a band of pedophiles probably insulates their group with pedos and/or pedo sympathetic people.
SO PEDOS ARE PROTECTED VIA NUMEROUS POLICIES IN THE IOWAY DOC. WHEN I WORKED AT ASP THE PEDOS WERE CLIQUED UP JUST LIKE A NORMAL CRIMINAL GANG. NOTHING EVER HAPPENED TO THEM. THERE WOULD BE GROUPS OF THEM. I ALWAYS WONDERED WHAT THEY TALKED ABOUT. GROSS.
