"Fencing riding" is the ultimate insult. You are not toeing the appropriate line apparently. You may have even made the mistake of thinking for yourself.

Everytime I’ve taken one of those political ideology tests I get centrist or right leaning centrist. I just look at things objectively. I’m proudly not a sheep and if that makes me “fence rider” then so be it.

I genuinely wish people would take politics less personally. Our politicians don't know us and they don't love us. We often have more in common than we do with politicians. I have family and friends who don't share some of my views, a few have quite different political views, but they're still family and friends and we get along well. Most Americans are good, decent people regardless of their political affiliation (even, and I hate to admit this, some Ole Miss fans). The press and social media figures are good at manipulating us all and getting us all riled up about some b.s. going on in what's a massive, diverse country that's pretty damn awesome. Most Americans who dislike others for their political beliefs, generally dislike them for views they don't actually have.

I'm literally center/just right of center and I'm absolutely not letting some authoritarian lunatic control my thoughts just because he took over my former party. If I put on my absolute kindest assessment of the MAGA movement as compared to anything we've seen in the past, the Federalist party comes to mind, which was ironically, put out of business by Republicans who were anti big federal government...

The fact that a large percentage of our population can't check themselves and their beliefs and can't stand the idea of possibly being wrong on something is unbelievable. The idea that even though damn near everybody they meet in real life is a pretty decent person, somehow, out there 50% of our population is evil. They are just always somewhere else doing terribly evil things because we are told they are.

The current MAGA line that you will see everywhere as it pertains to voter fraud is some version of it's "the statistics" because that is what they are being fed and told. Challenge with all the evidence, logic and reason and you will get back "the statistics". What you won't find is any evidence or source cited, nor any statistic cited. It's uncanny. Cultish.

I love watching the international soccer community love AMERICA and our freedom

If you watch "clarkson's farm" and listen to the bureaucracy they endure just to farm, and develop their land........ makes you realize how bad it has gotten

The people that have the proverbial "mic" are not "us"..... and they verify their existence by stirring sh^t up.

Congress..... is not longer "us,"......and as I have said before, they are the greatest threat to our existence there has ever been

I would stand on my hill of.....about 98% of all Americans are good and decent and accepting people, and just go about living their life

Lighten up folks, and stop electing liars

A huge part of the problem is that politics are now very 17ing personal. If government sticks to things government should do, it would be slightly less toxic. Still wouldn't eliminate it because it religion for a lot of people now, but it would help a good bit. Taxes shouldn't be the biggest lineitem on anybody's budget. You shouldn't be tagged for 12+% of your wages for your entire life in exchange for maybe getting to reach into the pockets of other taxpayers.

If, by virtue of the fact that he is in who he is (<-see how kind I was there) and will absolutely defend the ideas of the constitution, our law, morality, decency, etc. and that I am firmly opposed to him and his ways and will continue vote in whatever way that is the most harmful to MAGA as long as it has a stranglehold on one of our two parties, means that he "controls my thoughts" then I suppose you are right.

I simply see it as I have a Christ centered biblical worldview that insists that I love others, that I drive a stick in the spokes of the wheels of oppression, which means that I believe trying to actually follow the teachings of the Bible is what solidifies my opposition to him and his kind. Isaiah 58:6-11 sits printed on my desk as a daily reminder of who I am supposed to be. Trump, and MAGA, stand firmly opposed to everything in these verses and even today are angry about the idea of a federal holiday to allow a group of people who were enslaved for hundreds of years to celebrate that end...

“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—
when you see the naked, to clothe them,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness will go before you,
and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.
9 Then you will call, and the Lord will answer;
you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.
If you do away with the yoke of oppression,
with the pointing finger and malicious talk,
10 and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry
and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,
then your light will rise in the darkness,
and your night will become like the noonday.

11 The Lord will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail.

I do like that your definition of "unhinged" is citing Bible verses that are hard to comply with...

You can certainly go find Trumps actions, words and plans that align with Christian values and list them out here and I'll read them. You also don't have to subscribe to Christianity and I'll not be offended. At present, the evangelical church (the only one I'm qualified to speak on) is infected with people who are attracted to the current power that "Christians" like Cro-Magnon war monger Pete Hegseth and his ilk bring to the table. Should Christ ever come into focus again, I suspect our church roles will decrease.

Trump is not my christ or my pope. He's just a politician. And he's not particularly noteworthy as a politician as far as the morality of his actions other than he's cruder and doesn't hide his pettiness. That's what's so weird about TDS. The last president we had that I would consider a good human being was George W Bush. Him being president wasn't particularly good for most people. The Bidien family is an absolute train wreck full of trailer park trash antics without the excuse of growing up poor. Obama had he not been in power I think probably would have been a decent guy. At least has stuck with his family and marriage despite whatever proclivities he may have. Clinton was probably a rapist. Not in the "somebody claimed he raped them decades after the fact" rapist (I also don't think Biden was a rapist; most likely a creep, but I don't think one allegation decades after is credible). Clinton also had to give up his law license because he didn't think perjury was a big deal.

But Trump is what causes people to be deranged? He's basically a 1980's democrat. He wants protectionism and doesn't want workers undercut by illegal immigrants. That's practically the only two things he cares about personally. He doesn't really believe in any limits on government action (again, more a democrat thing although I get why it worries them when the president has an (R) after his name, although it'd be nice if they could look 4 years into the future at all times and remember that they might not like how unlimited government power gets exercised). He doesn't care about abortion and yet he has been as or more reliable on it than basically any other republican politician. He doesn't care about gay marriage; waived a pride parade on stage while campaigning. The only thing that's different is he hasn't acted like a 13 year old girl with his bitchiness. Just really odd that people are so deranged by him.

I just assumed that n’t was a typo. I despise Trump but he’s so much better than anything the Democrats have or will run for national office and that’s saying a lot. The Democratic Party is so far removed from mainstream America that they created Trump and I don’t see it changing anytime soon.
