Got it. So the question becomes around his point 4. "if the Amarillo Court of Appeals orders expedited briefings and decides the appeal “on the papers” without oral argument. But even such an expedited appeal is likely to run well into the college football season."
I’m generally a “glass is half full” kinda guy, but, this ruling adds in a significant way to the crisis that grips college sports. As kids think more and more about “money to be made”
a sizable minority will gamble on their own games/matches and render self serving, but, statistically insignificant results that flip games and enrich themselves. Thats just a fact! The vast majority of college athletes won’t do it, but, more than a few will.
I did some research and found that major sports betting scandals over the past 50
Years did NOT affect actual attendance in future years. Americans seem to just love their sports so much that they learn to live with the stinky underbody smells. I’m moderately sure that a judge panel will get this Scores-bee situation set right, but, we’ve all seen some wackadoodle rulings that can come down. Faith in the legal system is as damaged as our faith in the NCAA.

I went to the early one at the BJC. Maybe 4-5k? just a guess. Hard to tell with the strategic camera angles, roped-off sections, etc., but to me it seems like other locations have turned out at least as well, maybe more. Not Penn State good, but beats most World Championships. What matters more is the streaming numbers. No clue there….

On this week's Technique Tuesday, national champion Nico Megaludis breaks down his split the middle finishes — built on one idea: finishing isn't just technique, it's technique plus the will to fight through it. Megaludis was elite from this position at Penn State, and the difference between a finish and a stall is whether you're willing to suck it in and run it when you're tired. When a defensive guy beats the move — shoving his knees in, fighting with strong hips — Megaludis posts up to a super angle, sneaks the foot in, and drives over the hip while keeping his hand above the knee. The whole goal is getting the opponent's feet off the mat: one foot up and he can barely wrestle, both feet up, and he's done. From there, it's shoulder glued in, weight back on your toes, and a slide-and-pop into the Turk to fully extend him. This is how you stop dillydallying in the position and start finishing through the fight. You'll learn:
  • Why finishing takes technique AND will — and why the technique alone fails the second you get tired
  • How to beat strong hips and knees-in defense — post up to a "super angle" and drive over the hip
  • The hand-position detail that decides the scramble — keep your hand above the knee so he can't fight it below
  • Why getting both feet off the mat ends the match — the same crackdown principle that takes away his wrestling
  • The finish: shoulder glued in, butt over your toes, then slide and "pop" into the Turk to extend him with no fight left
Finishes come down to leverage and will. This is how you put both together.

a good read:

"It motivates our kids — what they're showing works," Rockmart head coach Drew Lindsay said. "We may show them the same thing, but when Cael Sanderson shows it, it's different. We've been successful because of the buy-in from the great people we've been able to put them in front of. Cael is as humble as it gets ... and that's the way we want our kids to act."
I chuckled at this bit, which definitely aligns with Cael's continued assertion that 'wrestling is wrestling' and fundamentals will always rule.

Guys, everyone that is attuned to the physiological make up of a great wrestler knows that having great hips is one of many ideal attributes to possess.

So, my message to all of the men on this board is to start with simple genetics and breed with a woman like this:
