Not sure why you go acquire Billings and start her but she plays 10-15 minutes a game and hardly any of the 4th qtr ever? Let’s see what she can do down the stretch. CC unfortunately disappeared in the 4th with foul trouble. And they’re just so bad at pick and roll defense. Carved up all game long.

Not one does it but I almost wonder if a matchup zone might be appropriate at times. You neutralize Indianas biggest weakness. Pick and roll D and straight line drives

I don't understand why Timpson was out there in the 4th over Billings or Hines-Allen. She had a few good plays when the Fever tied the game but all night Angel abused her in the post and Atlanta was basically ignoring her when she was on offense.

20 tonight
Damn they actually let her get some garbage time points and rebounds to get her double double.

That's too f***ing bad.

In all honesty, shutting her down is easy. The problem is being afraid that Atlanta will get hot from 3 because they have a more under-control Kelsey Mitchell in the form of Rhyne Howard who never saw a 3 pt shot she didn't like.

But just flood Reese so she can't flail at the hoop and throw up some garbage, then flail into the defenders around her who are like, "the f*** is this crazy b**** doing? Imma get out of the way before she elbows me in the face" and then Reese flails back to the ball to get the rebound and because she's off balance from jumping/flailing she typically misses the putback and then repeats the process all over.....sometimes many multiples of times in a single f***ing possession.

But f*** yes, that's definitely admirable basketball, coming from someone who actually coaches basketball..................😃

Double her on the catch so she can't turn and dribble to the basket and make her become the team leader in assists every night (yes, every f***ing night), and trust that her passing skills are just as bad as her jump shot from any distance outside her height.

It truly is that simple. It's definitely f***ing easier than burning all that energy defending CC 94 feet all game to make sure she doesn't get comfortable shooting 3s.......and yet nobody commits to it the way they do trying to keep Caitlin from being the scorer she legitimately is capable of being....................that's why we ask questions about why that is.

Hope that helps! 😃

Just not nearly good enough defensively to be a top tier team. But then again Atlanta’s defense was equally bad.

17 TOs and just no stops down the stretch. That’s a killer. And this roster is shockingly top heavy. The better teams have much more balance 1-8
Especially defensively, and at the forward/center position. Of course, given their offseason moves, or lack thereof, we kinda knew this would be a sh** show at times and at certain positions throughout the year.

You desperately need a 3 and CC is giving it up to Boston to take the shot - what??
It's time to start having honest discussions about Caitlin's passiveness/hesitance in 4th Qtrs when she's either A. Being guarded with 6 arms attached to her at all times B. Is in foul trouble or C. Knows her shot is off and is afraid to do what she did at Iowa and trust that she can shoot her way out of it because......"the WNBA is just tougher" i.e. playing in the WNBA creates a mental block that makes you shoot worse even when you're being guarded the same way as in college and playing in similarly-sized venues as the ones you've scored 40 in.

Roster construction.
3 starting caliber players, 1 quality bench player, and a junk drawer of other stuff. Plus a coach that has no idea how to use the players she was handed.

Clark isn’t being given an offense to run that she is efficient at, plus isn’t being given help on Defense. She also continues to push things that lead to unforced turnovers.

Boston is being pulled way too far away from the paint on offense, and has no backup. When she’s in foul trouble it is basically over.

Mitchell is a black hole on offense, sucks on defense, and is a bad pairing at SG next to CC. Her defenders will say she scores points though.

Lexi is a hustle player more than a defensive stopper. And she isn’t contributing enough for a starter with the contract they signed her to. Her 5.5 points per game is atrocious for a starter on an offensive team like this one.

Billings is probably the worst offseason signing in the league this year. Unplayable at the end of a game. Her 5.5 points per game is atrocious for a starter.

Sophie is earning her keep lately, wasn’t great to start the season but has been coming on and is effectively playing starter minutes.

Dantas is basically a joke out there.

MHA is a replacement-level player I guess. 4pts and 3rbs in 16 minutes per game isn’t great.

Harris is ok as a backup PG I guess.

Timpson is all effort and athleticism with little skill. Just about non-existent on offense.

Johnson was in over her head tonight but as a rookie has shown some flashes.

Terrible defense by Fever, refs were horrendous, announcers are very annoying, and wnba is trash.

midway through the 2nd she had 8 points and 6 rebounds and was benched with 4 fouls.

Went the rest of the game with 13 points 5 rebounds and 0 fouls.
She shuffles her feet nearly every single time she pump fakes near the basket. It's almost like it is an accepted part of her offensive moves now. She cannot get off the ground and seems to be regularly bailed out by officials. I'll give her credit, she takes advantage of it and is a more than decent free throw shooter.

Is anyone else close to not watching these games live anymore? I am about to the point that if there is literally anything else on tv that is interesting, I would rather just record the games and and then watch them if Indiana wins or if Caitlin has a great game, but if not then just catch the highlights. If I am to this point after being so immersed in I was tracking salary cap and potential offseason moves, that can't be a good thing for ratings overall. In that vein, Caitlin's army seems to be dwindling with her being 5th in all star voting.

It’s an even worse roster based on the style White wants to play. A mishmash of different play styles that don’t work well with each other. They can beat many of the bottom level teams just with talent, but they are not a good playoff caliber team (unless all the other teams lose many of their best players to injuries like last year).

It’s summer and on weeknights it fills a void.

I will never watch a second of it after Clark is done. It is shocking how bad the product is. The difference in coordination between men and women is huge. I swear some of these women shoot the ball mostly with the palms and not their finger tips.

Having coached both males and females for many years, I can tell you it’s a different game….judging the women’s game by comparing it to men’s is always going to leave people disappointed.

Caitlin is not a great defender but on top of it the refs allow total bullcrap. If Caitlin is defending a bigger player they are allowed to bull right through Caitlin AND get a foul call as with Howard last night. But with a little dust mite like Canada who repels off of Caitlin and crumbles to the ground, again fouls are called on Caitlin. So RIDICULOUS!

The Fever, despite their atrocious defense, had a decent shot at winning and Caitlin had a good shot at a 30 point double-double but both were thwarted by the refs. Eff these refs and the WNBA.

You look at Nike slow walking the release of her shoe, her treatment in the W, and some of the media narrative and it's pretty evident there’s an agenda that is counter to what CC is perceived to represent. That's actually always been the case.
