In theory. They dont remove games often and they dont usually remove ones that have a lot of traffic to them, but they do cycle games and there's a list of what will be coming off soon.

And yes, if youre in the middle of a game, and they remove it at midnight, you wont be able to play the next day. They did that to me with Streets of Rage 2. Bastards.
lol. Yeah I’ll for sure go that route. I guess since it’s all digital, you can’t go to GameStop anymore and get a used game? I don’t see myself buying $70 games too often.

I just looked game pass up and I’m sold. Do they have a limit on how many games you can have at a time? I saw it’s PC too. I wish I had a good PC, I got a Mac, I love computer games.

Dang. So it won’t have a career mode or recruiting or anything? That sucks. I’ve never really done that and was wanting to this time.
Nah. That’s outdated news. It is true that 2K will be slow-rolling the games. They’re a little more involved with carefully building player-characters with accurate signature moves and animations. EA hasn’t made a really good basketball game since the 1990s and I don’t know anyone who heavily plays college basketball games regularly that wants them within a million miles of a simulation basketball product. 2K has micro-transactions…true. So does EA, even more infamously and notoriously to the point of causing legal boundaries to be set up around some of the stuff.

EA was willing to rush out a basketball products with all the teams, but it would have been hot garbage. Their games are terrible for being unbalanced and lacking the intricacies that cause player A to feel distinctly separate from player B.

What 2K will do is they will create a basketball game that has about a quarter of the Division I teams in year one, as a stand-alone game. Then, in year two, they will expand that year over year until they have every team.

What howits was referring to has already happened. A lot of early speculation was that 2K would be adding college teams as a DLC to NBA 2K. When they unveiled it, it wasn’t a DLC. NBA 2K26 added college players, teams and assets to MyTeam, which is the gacha mode that was being referenced. That is separate than the standalone college basketball game that is coming.

I am a gamer (or at least I was until my job that currently has me away from home for 15 hours a day.) I can definitely tell you — serious sports gamers wanted 2K. That’s why many of the colleges refused to work with EA and signed with Take Two (parent company for 2K.)

I always liked 2K nba games. At least the older ones. So if you buy the game, will it update as the years go on? Or they will want to sell another one the next year that’s updated I imagine?

Used to be a gamer but just can’t find the time either. I’m a sucker for COD games. Not the future crazy stuff the old school stuff. Do they have a new game coming anytime soon?

No one knows yet it they will be yearly releases or bi-yearly releases that are updated yearly. That will be at 2K’s discretion and sales will probably dictate that.

Oh that sounds cool. When does GTA come out? Didn’t they just push it back not too long ago? I bet you are right in that it will be massive. I have an external computer hard drive. Same concept I reckon?
Yes, same idea and probably that one will work. They push xbox branded but they are so similar to a computer it should work at least based off friends. I game on the computer myself.

Yeah, they pushed it but I think it will still drop in November on consoles.

I didn’t necessarily mean using a computer one just meant the concept is the same. That would be even cooler. I got tons of TB hard drives. lol. I may or may not have a bad *** movie/TV server running at all times. I plead the 5th on that one. lol.

Also, apparently I read the $399 Xbox wrong. It was an S version. Whats the difference? Will it still play the newest games?

Yeah my brother called it for the poors lol but he’s a Richard. Looks like the X is over $500? That sound right? Ugh. It just keeps adding up. Did you see my post about what he uses? Do you know what the hell that is? He said people use it for AI and bitcoin mining but he uses his for gaming and AI. He owns a computer thingy company. No clue what he does honestly. CIA prolly.

My brother is a gamer. He’s got the one I posted above apparently. He also has a GPU 5090. Apparently bad ***. Cost like $5k? I’ve never heard of it.
Yeah that’s an insane graphics card. I have a PC for gaming as well, but not like that. Holy smokes lol!

He doesn’t play. So it’s just a graphics card? I remember from back in the day that being the most expensive part pretty much. I don’t understand how he plays anything? He said it’s PC only. I’m not an idiot when it comes to tech but I swear he’s Einstein at this ****. He’s a millionaire for a reason.

He set up my movie/TV server. That I may or may not have.

Yeah that’s a beefy boy. I’m still running a 2080 super in mine that I got back in 2020

And that means I might as well be running a Nokia flip phone compared to his.

That means absolutely nothing to me lol. Except maybe the number. 2080 compared to whatever I said above makes sense. lol. Now what you are actually talking about? Crickets.

Yeah it sounds like nerdy jargon I know.

Your brother’s graphics card alone still sells for like $1800. Mine brand new back when it came out was barely half that.

He’s driving a Rolls Royce.

I have a PS5 but i mostly play on PC anymore. But something about playing a cbb or any sports game on pc just doesn’t sit right.

I’d probably dust off the PS5 for a new cbb game tbh.
100 percent agree. You can’t play sports game on a PC unless you got a controller but still. I get exactly what you are saying.

Yeah I dont know if Gamestop is really a thing outside of some retro games and collectibles. Theres almost no need for a physical game these days and some of the "lesser" models of the new Xbox and PS dont even have cd drives.

Nope no limit. Your only limit is your HD. So depending on what current systems are out there, opt for a bigger HD if you can.

Yeah I built a new PC a year ago, more so because its been a while since I did a build. Played a few recent games in it, but like the Xbox, not a whole lot of gaming these days.

Thanks man. Appreciate all your posts and everybody else’s. Still torn on the S/X model. I figure I’ll regret it if I don’t get the X in the long run. For sure getting that game pass thing. Do I need Xbox live for that?

it’s funny you said that about preferring Xbox. Not sure if you saw my posts about my brother earlier, he prefers what he does(PC I guess? Still confused on it)over Xbox but none of his friends have what he has so he still plays Xbox lol.

He also said GTA was coming out soon. I think he said maybe November? I can’t remember. That true?

and that makes me sad about GameStop. I worked at Babbages I think it was called for my first job at Fayette mall back in the day. It turned into GameStop. I could get lost in GameStop for a minute.

No problem! The Xbox live part is where i get confused now because I also did this thing with a bunch of friends where you can "join" two Xboxs together under the same account and when one person buys a game, the other gets it. So we had an NHL hockey club with like 10 people. And it would save us all money every year. So honestly, not sure on that, and its been a while since ive seen what the tiers are. Microsoft never did a great job with making this simpler and they change it fairly often (im just remember the days when it was Silver and Gold lol). I do believe you can get Game Pass on its own, and then go from there.

I say just go for the X. It has some additional features and the bigger drive.

Yeah PC gaming is a lot more "on your own". Not that you cant play with your friends, but the Xbox and PS make community gaming much easier and more casual, at least among your group. With PC gaming its kind of more "you and the rest of internet".

No, but PC people don’t usually spend as much on games. There’s a lot of free to play games and ways of getting things without paying full price
Command and Conquer is my heart. Did you ever play that? I’d love to figure a way to play that regularly. I have all of the older ones but my PC isn’t very good. I don’t think it’s hooked up.

I so wish they would put them on Mac. I got a cool resident evil game on Mac. Been a minute since I played it. Not bad.

For sure. Damn. That’s cool as hell you could do that with NHL game. I remember hockey games being fun back in the day. I assume everyone just wanted to start fights like me? lol.

I was, by far, the worst of the 10 of us lol. Because I joined late. Some of my friends had already been in this club for 15 years. So id just play defense and try and stay out of the way. But it was a lot of fun. 6 people playing at once, all positions. We actually avoided the on-ice fighting mostly and just tried to play hockey. Some clubs we played against were absolutely filthy. But we also held our own pretty well.

everyone has the rights, no one took it over. EA was going to make a REAL college basketball game with all 300+ teams. full recruiting, ncaa football like. 2k said hey we can do that too and ea said forget it we aren't competing. rumor is 2k may just make it a mode in the nba games since they are only getting the major conference teams and focusing on march madness and not career modes or anything. No real fan of the old games is interested in the nonsense 2k is making.
This is the latest I read as well. I think some people have incorrect and/or outdated information in this thread.

I have a series S Xbox and a PS5. The Xbox mainly sits I use the PS5 regularly.
Which my first online console was a PS3 and I had ps1/ps2 growing up so the general shape of the playstation controller is comfortable in my hands.

I know we're talking CFB/CBB games but I play competitive call of duty and I have a few pro controllers, a $300+ headset, and the PlayStation is hooked up to a Samsung G6 professional monitor while the Xbox is on the living room tv. Probably have $1500+ worth of accessories for the PlayStation and if a young family member wanted the Xbox I'd probably give it to them.

You can get the Command and Conquers on GoG.com. They are cheap and can run on potatoes. Not sure if they made it run for Macs or not, but maybe.

Literally everything I said was correct on this topic. I eat, sleep and breathe this stuff.

Y’all are operating on old news. EA is the ones who demanded an exclusivity license as well btw. Take Two did not.
