Nebraska is first to market (as far as I can tell) with its non-conference schedule:
FWIW, I put in a right to know request to Oklahoma for any contracts, documents, or communications regarding a visit from Penn State this year to complete a possible home and home, which many assumed would be the case, after the Sooners came to the BJC last year. They had nothing to pass along. Doesn't mean it won't happen. It could be possible that nothing is on record yet, or that my request wasn't specific enough, or that there is just no return trip for the Lions. Anyway, just wanted to pass that along.
@GregPickel I know you keep track of this ... what dates did PSU release their schedule the past few years?
I’ll look it up then but no where near now haha. Last year was a little earlier than normal.
Sept 29 last year. Oct 8 in 2024. Oct 2 in 2023. Oct 4 in 2022.
Nebraska at the Keystone Classic, safe to assume PSU is not returning. A return to the Black Knight?
I am always surprised when I read the actual dates. It always feels as though they send me a bill, i send a check and then sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas they release the schedule.
I think the Black Knight Invitational is about as certain as the Lehigh match.

Ha, the reason I went outside of PA for this particular endeavor was because Oklahoma is a public university and this subject to these types of request which PSU, Bucknell, etc are not.Did you make a request to see if Bucknell gets a return trip as well?
I think Penn State’s schedule is even more non-consensual. Nobody really wants to wrestle Penn State.

Sorry for my ambiguous snark, but I was wondering if Bucknell was going to make a return trip to Oklahoma. The Sooners wrestled them in Lewisburg the day after they wrestled us. Perhaps we could get Ira to pony up for a larger charter and share with the Bison.
Aw,man, I'm sorry! That flew right over my head, clearly. In hindsight, definitely should have checked on that, as well.
I attended the Black Knight last year since it is only a 3 hour drive from my house (SC is 6+). Really good tourney to attend - except they ran out of food before the semis. Great to see some of our non-starters get their chance to show what they can do. Also got the see Levi ‘forget’ he was wrestling folkstyle and not freestyle and leg-lace an opponent for what would have been 2 exposures.
Glad you had a good time. I've heard nothing but good things from others who have attended in the past.
It is just a cool place to go. The cadets, the history, the look and feel are fantastic. I’ve been there many times - just have to get there for the Black Knight to round it all off.

It does make me laugh that even something as simple as every Big Ten school releasing their home and away opponents turns into a game of put together the Penn State schedule puzzle.

Penn State wrestling knows who it will wrestle during the Big Ten portion of its 2026-2027 season as it looks to defend another title.
The shame of wrestling a limited Big10 schedule is there is a nice rivalry building between Nebraska and Penn State and not wrestling dulls the intensity of the rivalry.
The last few seasons Nebraska has wrestled PSU harder than the Hawks.
The other downside is we rarely wrestle Minnesota. Granted these Gophers aren't JR'S Gophers, and Eggum doesn't stir the pot in a manner similar to JR but I wish we wrestled Minnesota more frequently.

Ha, still too early for that information. I was up early this morning, so I scoured a bunch of team sites in addition to scrolling Google for a little. I did not find anyone with a 2026-2027 schedule out yet.
Second this. I really enjoyed covering that match last year. I get it all runs on a rotation but, still is a bummer.
It isn't two weeks into the season, so no.
However, Black Knight Invitational and Lehigh are two that are about as certain as you can get.
Too bad, would love a Nebbie beatdown along with Manning tears to be an annual event.
I was going to say we usually get the schedule about 48 hours before weight-ins.
