Think I’m seeing a trend in baseball portal recruiting.

Another fact - reporting the .527 number as “Total bases percentage” is awful.

Whatever summer intern made this graphic with ChatGPT needs to be given an early exit from the Bryan Building.
Put the torch and pitch fork down. Not sure where Pat got that graphic from, but I don’t think it was from anyone in the Bryan Building or official with the program.

They misspelled his name too. It’s Grawe, not Grave. Not that this fact distinguishes from official or not due to past history….but don’t think it’s anything official

People worried about all the offensive losses from this year can maybe breathe a little easier. And I think our strategy says we feel like some of the young relievers will make a step up next year, which I think they will.

So does he have another position? Or does the guy from army have another position? Aren’t they both third basemen?

I think between this guy, the guy from army & the guy from ga southern, that’s our 3B, 1B & DH next year. And it’s possibly this guy may not be a starter. I think the other 2 will for sure though.

I feel like this year our returnees make it to where we have a lot of spots up for grabs in the field and that makes us appealing, but I also wonder if all our returning pitchers are scaring away some of the top arms. Pitchers in this era want to go somewhere they can start, and we bring back our whole weekend rotation plus Bauer and Miller who could become starters.

Feels like it’s hard to build a great bullpen out of the portal and we’re gonna have to develop some relievers,

I think we feel comfortable about our starting rotation (TV, Ryan & Stone) & believe a lot of the young relievers will be improved next year. So we’re not really going big for pitchers.

Yeah offensively was definitely the bigger need, we may only return two starters depending on how the draft goes with Milewski and Teel.

Yeah, the pitching cupboard is definitely stocked. I just hope that Parker’s able to do a lot more with it next year than he did this season.

His track record gives me confidence, but I’d be lying if I said that this past year wasn’t really disappointing. Our starting pitching after Stone was a trainwreck, we never found a reliable closer or long reliever, and a good portion of our bullpen just never improved throughout the season. I didn’t expect a ton out of Bauer this year, but I thought we’d get more than a near double digit ERA out of him too.

Anyway, next year is probably a get it done or get gone year for Parker

I’m not going to jump to any conclusions as to who will be the guy in each position. All I know is that it looks like it’s setting up to be an extremely competitive fall and then we’ll see from there.

Probably so, and this is by far the riskiest aspect for the 2027 team. We are banking on potential turning into results in the bullpen because we really have no proven pieces coming back. If we are just going to bring in a few guys here and there through the portal and primarily depend on development of returning guys to get actual production, then we won't really know what we have until the season is well underway next season. Let's all hope we develop well. If we don't, we will still have the achilles heel we had this year.

And the best bullpen guy we had this year was Davis and he will be gone as well. BTW, do we expect Webb back? He is listed as a JR so not sure if he is a draft risk or not? Would be good if we get him back and he can get back to early season form. He was never the same after the Texas series but I think he may have been dealing with an injury coming down the stretch.

It feels good to have complete faith and full confidence in a head coach.
I like the direction the program is headed

Any chance we’re pushing signing pitchers a little later to get some feedback on what their potential looks like based on looking at them in summer ball?

Yeah, there are still a lot of arms left on the Top Transfer list, and I think our portal class is a long way from being done.

My hope is that the returning talent on the pitching staff is allowing our staff to be a little more selective, but we’ll still end up
signing at least 4-5 more arms.

I think some of those young pitchers will improve like most players do from FR to SO season. Guys like Bauer and Maddox. Plus we did sign a couple of bullpen pitchers that look like they could be pretty solid. I'm not opposed to signing another good pitcher or two or three. But I think so far we've gone after and filled our biggest needs.

I don't know anything, but I'm assuming both of those guys will be back next year.

BOC will build our program with signing classes, but portal will be important. I know he signed a great class for next year but not sure who will go MLB.
