My dumb guess, he wants complete flexibility to transfer/go back to Barca/international after year 1.Maybe it's a situation where his agent is using leverage to keep teams upping the dollar amounts.
Answer the question darkshades. Instead of doing the laughing emoji. Why?
And probably wanted all the money upfrontMy dumb guess, he wants complete flexibility to transfer/go back to Barca/international after year 1.
Any time there’s structures with a 2-year plan in place it gets really dicey from the sounds of itMy dumb guess, he wants complete flexibility to transfer/go back to Barca/international after year 1.
Mm yeah, perhaps. My dumb guess, he wants complete flexibility to transfer/go back to Barca/international after year 1.
I think it is in Estill County. It's somewhere in Clay County I think.
So you don't actually have any facts. Got it. I honestly don't care how much UK spends. But I dislike people throwing around numbers as facts when they ,or no one else actually has a clue, especially when the media and other coaches use these numbers to make UK look bad...because it was done a lot over the last 8 to 10 months. You don't think guys like Goodman and Norlander have sources? They talk to dozens of coaches this time of year who tell them what the numbers are in the open market. They share those numbers on their podcasts.
Maybe you should start taking them more seriously.
I mean, it's a myopic argument to think UK can't make it happen financially. Oklahoma is just as poor as Kentucky is and they can afford a pro team. The Thunder have a payroll that is around $243 million just for the players. TV and revenue sharing give them about $160 million, but they have to come up with the rest of their payroll through merchandising, sponsors, state tax incentives, and fan support.
If the people of Oklahoma can come up with meeting the rest of that gap, the people of Kentucky can come up with a fraction of that for a state with a near identicaly population as Oklahoma and a similar average household income. Plus, we're the only show in town. Yes, I understand that OKC has more home games and playoff games, but UK plays 19 home games, plus three exhibitions for a total of 22 games. Even if we pull 15 to 20% of the game revenue that OKC pulls for the Thunder, we're looking at a UK program that could fork out $20 to $25 million annually. This is another reason why Pope wants a 49 game season. He wants more opportunities to increase revenue so that we can have more money to spend on players.
Just take the guys who are in the know more seriously. They're not making up numbers. They are talking to rival coaches who are getting outbid by Kentucky.
Yeah, that is pure Red Chicken material there.Cayuts? Yeah, real UK fans say that all the time……
Oh God. What was he wrong about now? No clue why anyone listens to a thing he says. He is literally never right and always says, “well things changed”. What a joke. Him and Roush make me despise KSR a lot of times.Mods seriously removed my post for pointing out Pilgrim was wrong yet again.
We have absolutely ZERO insiders. If that hasn’t been proven to people yet, it never will be. If you pay for “premium access”, you are an absolute fool. Not you specifically.I know we all want info but we give the 'insiders' way too much credit.
Hahaha you got me!! Go touch grass dude it’s not that seriousI asked what his team was, but chickenshit wouldn't give a real answer
I won’t say you aren’t a UK fan, I don’t know or care really. However, no UK fan calls the cats, Cayuts. That’s just a fact guy.Hahaha you got me!! Go touch grass dude it’s not that serious
Glad you said that. You said the same thing about MilanHe’s going to Gonzaga lol getting played again
You may get ish for being here but seem like a good poster. Stick around.I've watched a lot of Barca film lately, both the main team and the junior (Liga) squad, because my Heels pulled a center out of that program.
Here is what I can tell you about Nikola. He turned 17 about 7 weeks ago. He's really skinny. As a result he rarely plays for the top Barca team. But when he plays for the junior team against guys his own age, he plays very well. He needs patience and development. His potential is outstanding. But with college basketball being full of guys who are 4, 5, even 6 years older than him, he's going to be at major physical disadvantage in 2026. I see him as a developmental piece that you bring in specifically because you want to be in charge of his physical development to get him ready for a bigger role in '27-'28. UK doesn't need him to be a contributor next season. You've got guys that can handle that position for next year. That's why this would be a good fit. Particularly the idea of Milan Momocilovic mentoring Nikola. They are the same height, with Milan being about 40-45 lbs heavier and 4.5 years older. Nikola would learn a lot just practicing against Milan.
Why Gonzaga? Isn’t Duke the one with his teammate committed? I know you didn’t post it but I didn’t feel like digging for his post. I know Gonzaga has done damn well with euros but wasn’t that a lot to do with now head coach at Arizona?Glad you said that. You said the same thing about Milan
Glad I don’t get my hopes up in recruiting anymore. I used to love following recruiting too when we were locking down 5 stars galore.Branham crystal ball removal + Nikola/Fueger social media unfollowing =![]()
I have no clue. I think you're right about his teammate at Duke. Why Gonzaga? Isn’t Duke the one with his teammate committed? I know you didn’t post it but I didn’t feel like digging for his post. There's a few schools that have his pro teammates committed. That doesn't seem to really be a major influence with European pro guys. Having a connection with the agent of a Euro pro seems to be a big help though (major factor in Illinois' recent success with Balkan pros.)Why Gonzaga? Isn’t Duke the one with his teammate committed? I know I am about the Duke teammate. I’ve seen other mention Gonzaga and mention a teammate. I don’t know if they got confused with Duke or talking about a different teammate. I feel like Pope would mesh well with euros for some reason.I have no clue. I think you're right about his teammate at Duke.
That makes sense. Do these euro agents move over here with these young players? I guess maybe some do and some don’t. I would find it a lot easier to adjust having a teammate I knew and played with if I went to hoop for a foreign country but maybe that’s me. The deal completely broke down once we wanted a 2-year deal. Currently, the best way to do that is to backload the deal for the second year, and they won't be doing that. There is a lot of red tape to work on here to finalize the deal. Our offer is way ahead of anyone else and triple what FC Barcelona is offering him to stay. Very high likelihood he ends up at Kentucky just may take longer than originally expected. I think Branham pulled his CB pick too early and Nikola will be a cat next season.
No. You're just a pathetic troll on another team's site. That's really sad, dude. How about YOU go touch grass? And go to your own team's siteYou guys are sensitive asf lmao biggest internet warriors I’ve seen in my life
I’d be hesitant to sign a 2 year deal if I was Pope too. Who’s to say the player can’t back out? They have all the power nowadays it seems. Depends if you think he is that good, if so, do it. If not, let him walk. If I’m coaching for my job like Pope is this season, I’m taking every chance I can to not mess up this year. Worry about the future when it gets here. The deal completely broke down once we wanted a 2-year deal. How do you find time to work when you’re on here 24/7?from the time I left work
Are you his boss? Why do you care? Quit sweating him. You also are a supposed new poster. How would you know he’s on here 24/7?How do you find time to work when you’re on here 24/7?![]()
Did you ever stop to think that I probably post here while at work? How do you find time to work when you’re on here 24/7?![]()
I meant "they" as in the Nikola camp. The money is there, but most of it would be paid by UK in the second season as that is the only way they can attempt to make sure he stays for 2 years.I’d be hesitant to sign a 2 year deal if I was Pope too. Didn’t Lowe supposedly sign a 2 year deal? We saw how that went.
