It wasn’t a hit and run, nobody calls a hit and run count on a 3-2 count. Surely you’d know that if you played college baseball like you said.

Sometimes hitters swing at balls out of the zone. That’s baseball.
Funny because I was told you go on contact when the infield is in with a runner on 3rd with less than 2 outs. Which I’ve NEVER heard.

But as I mention and also I amended, if you’re down in a close game 3-2 H and R isn’t bad to get something going and hitter doesn’t swing at a ball in his eyes, it’s a walk.

You’ve never heard running on contact with 1 out, even if the infield is in?

I didn’t say you always do. I said teams often put on the “contact play” which is a conscious decision to go on anything on the ground.

A hit and run makes no sense 3-2. Gavin was stealing, we do it all the time to try to stay out of double plays on grounders. You’re betting against the strikeout. Sometimes you lose on that.
