He only went once he saw the throw to the plate. If it’s a good throw he’s safe. It’s so far up the field, it aides the play. It’s good, aggressive baserunning where a bad throw actually aided them.

He's probably safe with a good throw from the catcher. That throw was great

Maybe it's just me but I don't think either of those ours were terrible base running. Aggressive on the first, running on contact on the second. Sometimes it works, sometimes you get burned.

True but as a 3B coach (some of us have coached) you’re saying to the runner, infield is in, see the ball through.

I don't mind the Hull out at third, but Coop running there on contact is not something that I particularly liked. Not too mad. He did get us two runs there.

Nah. Usually with 1 out the contact play is on. That comes from the coaching staff. Anything on the ground, you go. If you’re out by a lot, get in a rundown and try to get the hitter to second. Nicholson didn’t have a chance to try to do that there.

We’re going to have to outhit pitch and outhit our miscues today. Don’t think Forbes “sent” Nicholson on that play. Feel sure he was coached to see it through the infield on a ball hit that hard. Not time to get a decision from coach. Player makes that decision on his own.
